A great prof! He made the subject very interesting to learn and never let his own religious views alter how he taught another religion. I even took another class from him just because he was the prof! Take his class, if you read the text and go to class you'll do great.

Comment:

Bryan was an extremely smart proffesor that I would recommend to anybody. Very thorough. Non-biased, which is important in the study of religion. I'm looking forward to taking more classes from this fellow. Easy to respect, yet is still approachable. Very kind man.

not to bad of a prof. Though you have to do your reading which was way to much for one class. Always went over time. Exams were difficult and way to much to do in 45 minutes. One essay which was pretty easy, and marked on attendence. Gets super behind and then says just finish reading my slides on your own time (didn't like that).

Funny, and real. Goes out of his way to learn your names. You never feel dumb asking him a question. Pretty good looking. Also his structure is quite accomidating if you happen to miss a class.

Professor Hillis is a good prof, who is very understanding and adaptable for his students. His lectures are clear, but there is a lot of information to know for the exam. Classes can seem long because there is little discussion and a lot of lecturing. Still, overall, I recommend him.

I found this class harder than some of the 400 level classes I have taken. I also found that Dr. Hillis was abit confused at times not with his knowledge but with the whole televised aspect of this class. His exams were hard and were marked hard as well.

I took a couple classes form him when I was a student at U of R 10 years ago. I still remember him as an excellent teacher. He was very encouraging and is a genuine and kind person. Highly recomended.

Dr Hillis is very good at saying what needs to be said. He doesn't go off on different tangents. it's not always thrilling, but he gets through everything clearly and effectively. the assignments were also very easy... though the exams were... not so easy. he is very intelligent. i liked how organized he was. i'd take another class from him.

Awesome professor. Great lectures. He is an extremely easy marker on papers, his tests can be tricky but fairly average for Religious Studies. As well, he seems to be very unbiased in his teaching although he is a Christian. Yes, he had a hard time keeping up with his sylabis but it really wasn't a big deal.

I dont really know what to think of this class. Bryan is a very smart guy with lots of imformation, however I sometmes felt his lectures were quite boring. Make sure to read the textbook, the midterms are kind of hard.

Wow! I loved this class and I thought that Dr.Hillis did an amazing job! His enthusiasm and teaching ability only increased my interest in RLST and made distance learning easy! He cared about student thoughts and I agree that this is one teacher who could not teach enough classes! If you have any interest in RLST this class is a definite asset!!

He really knows his stuff, because he's been to a few of the places he lectures about. Well-prepared, but not good at staying on schedule. The tests are not bad, but make sure you read the assigned readings.
