Dr Rouhani is such a sweetie! He is one of my all-time faves at UMW. After a semester of Geopolitics, he and I did an independent study together and we spent lots of time together. He's interesting and witty, & has great taste in music and movies. As long as you show him that you care about his class, he will be caring and charming towards to you.

Seriously the best. Dr. Rouhani is incredibly nice, approachable, and knowledgeable on his subject. We read 4 books over the semester, had 2 papers, 2, presentations, and sundry other assignments, but it's all manageable and extremely interesting. If you work hard and take it seriously, there's no reason you can't get a good grade.

Comment:

One of the nicest professors I've ever had. He cares about his students and is so approachable if you have any problems. His lectures can be a little boring sometimes but are fun and interesting for the most part. Taking notes is super important when it comes to studying for the tests, his *study guides* are based off of your notes. Great class!

Took this class for a gen ed and went in expecting to hate it but actually really enjoyed the class. Lectures are really laid back which makes them more enjoyable. He makes an effort to know everyone even though it's a class with 50 people in it. Tests are very short and easy as long as you review for them and take good notes during class

Comment:

Rouhani is one of the best professors at UMW. I decided to be a geography major because of him. He explains the material very clearly, and he is very approachable and friendly! He brings candy on exam days too. Overall, a nice professor! Attendance isn't mandatory but his lectures are so interesting you wouldn't want to skip. Definitely recommend.

Rouhani is such a sweet guy! by far he was my favorite professor this semester. The class overall was very easy. If you show up, take notes, and do your reading you will pass. He takes into consideration how hard you tried when grading, so don't give up. There are only 3 tests, and a few short essays that are easy to study for.

Wonderful professor and really laid back and descriptive during his lectures. He gets to know your name. I think that tells a lot about his character. Great to talk with. For the class, you need to come to class and at least listen to the lecture. His tests aren't difficult if you do the readings and study a little bit for the tests.

Rouhani is the best! Seriously take him if you get the chance. Only three tests (no final!) and 3 pretty short papers. The weekly reading quizzes weren't too difficult, either. Attendance isn't mandatory but there's a easy participation exercise once a week. Definitely recommend and would take him again!

Dr.Rouhani is one of the nicest men I have ever met! He really does love Human Geography and tries to make everyone in the class involved. Issue is, the class had about 70 students in the classroom. He does weekly reading quizzes (the are soo ambiguous), 2 papers, weekly in class assignments (this is how he keeps track of attendance) & 4 tests!

Fantastic for Intro to Human Geography. He boils down the concepts to what would be expected in an introductory class, moves at a good pace, and will stop and explain specific concepts or definitions when asked. Perhaps most importantly, he tries to make the class (which had 60 or so people in it) as engaged in discussion as possible.

Rouhani is a great professor, he explained everything we went over in a very clear way and he encouraged his students to voice their opinions about the material. He made sure to include the perspectives of minority groups in his lectures. His exams aren't easy, so read the books and don't miss lectures. I will definitely take more of his courses.

I'm an IA major and I had him for migration politics. He was really funny and nice, I wish there were more things I could take with him. I'm not sure about his other geography classes but I learned SO MUCH in migration politics try to take if he can offer it again.

Rouhani is a good professor, we had 2 exams and two papers. Final was take home. However, his lectures are very boring, he doesnt really explain the material in detail. The movies he showed were very good, and the books we read were also good - learned a lot about M.E. Just remember to take GOOD notes - all the exams are out of notes. So good notes

Awesome professor. Rouhani is really nice and the material is fairly interesting. Tests are easy if you take the time to study your notes. Take good notes, theyre all you need to study. Reading quizzes every wednesday, you must do the reading, which is the worst part of the clas but not too bad. Rouhani is my favorite professor so far!
