Comment:

Heard a lot of negative feedback before taking her class. She ended up being one of my favourite professors yet. You will have to work for it, and take her advice, but if you do she will do nothing but good for you. I wish I could have her again.

Comment:

For a first year class it can be quite daunting to have her as a professor. She is very particular about what she likes or doesn't like. A lot of the time its about following her vision and sacrificing your own. For the best mark its safer to just do what she suggests. She demands a lot of work outside of studio time. Can be a creativity killer.

Comment:

It's about pleasing her. She'll simplify your ideas to a point you cannot tell it's yours. It's because she wants you to finish it on time, but that just shows how much she underestimates her students. Not to mention she wants her students to (by quote) "spend 6 hours in a day working on her assignments alone" which is ridiculous.

She is by far my least favourite prof. Extremely uneasy to speak to, her criticism is very harsh and unnecessary. She will tell you an idea, you'll go ahead and do it then she'll say she hates it.

I never had a single prof I even disliked even a little in my 3 years here but this one was awful. If you already know all the course material she'll help you improve but don't expect her to teach you anything. She has ZERO knowledge of how to use the shop so Ird with her is awful and really confusing. Make a good impression it's all that matters

The amount of work she expects you to do class to class is a lot, but it will only help you in the end. She will always look for ways to criticize/improve your work for the sake of progress. So listen to what she has to say, and honestly think about what that will do for your work. She is not always right, but If she is, she is on the ball.

If you miss her class or hand things in late she will NOT tolerate it and you will immediately be on her bad side. If she sees that you are pushing yourself and you are using her feedback she respects you and has a lot to offer. I didn't always agree with her teaching methods but she does push you to stay on top of things, which i admired

She gives really good advice and ideas when you are stuck with your projects. Willing to help and understand the student's direction clearly. She might come off harsh, but she pushes you and wants you to create innovative projects.

If you don't ask her questions and consult with her on your projects you will not do well. I found the more i talked to her and asked questions the better she marked me. Just do what she tells you to do and she will be happy. Make sure you clarify on things because she likes to assume that you know what shes thinking. Not clear at all.

Absolutely terrible lecturers. Attendance is enforced by not one but two attendance sheets, and she just reads the slides without providing any useful information. The sheer amount of work for such a useless class is astounding and I hope for the future years that it gets canceled as I have learned nothing

IRH 200 Contemporary design. This class was totally a joke. There was absolutely NOTHING taught in the lectures and There were hours and hours required in extra curricular activities. Also, the students taught 2/3 of her class due to our "presentations". She taught me nothing. Very disappointing

As long as you are willing to work hard, she is willing to praise your work. I found it difficult in certain situations to go ahead with your own ideas; if you go ahead with her suggestions, your crits will generally go well. Craftsmanship and clean prototypes are two of the ways to earn your way into her good books!

Had her for IRN700. Worst prof ever. Totally disrespectful toward your design/originality. Takes idea from your classmate project and force it on yours. So very mean and underhanded, praises you in presentation but gives you realy bad grade in the end. Often cut you off during your explaination during crit. Simply wont listen to your ideas.

She pushes you around and drain you out for the design process. Week 1 she would ask you to pursuit this, week 2 she asks you to pursuit that, and so on. Sometimes it would take hours of works before the crit and then she denied that she didn't tell you to do so. So if you don't want to be pushed around, be her favourite!

I don't know why she has such a reputation on this site. She is the perfect studio professor for those who are willing to work. She is not fooled by fancy renderings that cover up bad design/planning. If you want someone to praise your work show it to your parents, if you want to learn design she is more than willing to help you succeed.

She was my prof for my year end project in fourth year. She never gave me any guidance and then failed me without ever telling me what I did wrong. Actually, I only found out that I had failed when I checked my marks online. She didn`t have the guts to tell me that I failed face to face. Who does that!! She is truly the worst prof I have ever had!
