Do not take. Total waste. Lectures don't count for anything and just repeat the textbook. Show up, easy A, but learn nothing. Dr. Friedman is extremely difficult and never around.

Originally I did not like Dr. Friedman in her POLS 293 class, but her POLS 386 was a complete change. I loved being in that class and she truly helped cultivate my adoration of politics and the different varieties it comes in. You will read, A LOT, but the articles are the key to answering the open ended test, READ THEM PLEASE FRIEND.

Dr. Friedman is one of the best professors in the Political Science department. I've taken all her courses (POLS 293 and POLS 386). She does require you do papers in POLS 293 and POLS 386 but you only have one term paper in POLS 494 and if you turn it in you basically get an A. Most of her classes are simple you have to show up and pay attention.

Very difficult class and very hard to prepare for tests. Do not take this class with the illusion of it being an easy elective. Professor is very knowledgeable, but extremely difficult.

Honestly, her lectures don't matter for the test but you have to be there. The Journals are super easy points so don't skip doing those. She gives you the day off of class when she assigns homework. Her lectures are just an explanation of the reading.

No tests or quizzes, but lots of papers. Overall, one of the best classes I've taken and I learned a lot. She's also very reasonable and open to suggestion, so if you go to her with any conflicts she'll do her best to accommodate.

Professor Friedman is tough! Her class is solely based off of 4 assignments--3 tests and 1 assignment that is very time-consuming. She gives no help unless you are close to failing. I had to withdraw from her class to save my GPA. Text book is a must and even then there is no real help for her tests. The assignment is very time intensive and long.

Your grade depends on how much work you put into reading and studying and how much you care about the subject matter. Not terrible, but she doesn't expand on what she should and expands on what she shouldn't. Technologically inept, but doesn't affect class as she doesn't post to BB. If you memorize readings well, you can do alright in this class.

Dr. Friedman is a great professor! She is very enthusiastic about the subject matter, which can lead to class-long rants, but her enthusiasm is contagious. There ARE a lot of readings, but they don't tend to be too long and the journal/summaries are only two paragraphs. If you have any interest in the subject, definitely take her class!

Dr. Friedman probably shouldn't be an Honors professor. She gives inane busywork due EACH DAY, usually 1-3 "journals" in which you have to summarize what happened -- as if you're still in high school. She then proceeds to lecture for the rest of the class. DO NOT take for Honors courses; she eschews involved discussion in favor of lecture.

She is gives a lot of reading (which were all valid to the subject). She grades really easy on papers. Although she likes to assign 20 page papers instead of finals.

I found this class interesting and very helpful as long as you just kept up with all that she assigns for you to do, tests do come from both the book and lecture. She makes sense when you actually pay attention and she makes good points. Sometimes I would just read the chapter summaries pertaining to what she wanted us to know and read about.

This class is so ridiculous. The prof lectures about a lot of things that do no apply to "theories of international relations". Test questions have nothing to do with lectures. Totally GPA killer. One of the worst POLS prof's I have ever had.

Bad prof. will never take her again. her lecture is bad and her GA makes the tests so most of lecture has nothing to do with what will be on the test. She talks about how much she loves Bosnia every single day. don't take this class. GPA killer. impossible to get an A

Class is interesting. Lecture is boring at times. She reads more stats from papers than anything else. Better enjoy reading each test is over 300+ pages. Tests consist of 35 multiple choice and a essay. No study guides. Best choice is to read the book and take notes. Grade consists of 3 tests and a project, all at 25%. Good class, bad prof

She is willing to help if you ask, but you HAVE to read the assigned pages and go off her lecture notes. Hard to stay awake and the tests are extremely difficult. Once you take the first test though you have a better idea of how to study. Unfortunately, there are only 3 tests.

Her lectures were VERY boring. Be sure to take notes because most of the test seemed to come from her lectures. No final and the semester project is really easy. If you can stay awake during class you will be fine. Also must go to 1 or 2 days of lecture at the end of the semester for attendance but not tested on it.
