Dr. Gadala-Maria is a great guy and is very thorough with his teaching. He is too thorough. He spends half the class discussing basic math concepts instead of covering the course objectives. He is very nice, just not my favorite teacher.

I have never rated a professor but Gabala-Maria is the best I've had thus far. He makes fluid mechanics fun and easy to follow. He is a very interesting, gifted man with an enormous amount of knowledge. You're missing out if you don't take him.

Professor Gadala-Maria is a brilliant professor. His lectures, though sometimes boring and long, are very clear and really help you understand the material if you pay attention. He is very knowledgeable about the subjects that he teaches, but teaches them in a way that is still very understandable.

I looked forward to attending his class three times a week. He is a bit slow and soft spoken in speech, but his instruction is crystal clear, and he draws excellent parallels and connections to things outside of class. HW is not that long or hard either. I highly recommend taking Dr. Gadala-Maria. DO IT!

Gadala-Maria is a very gifted teacher. He draws lots of parallels to something that may be more concrete in order to explain a specific concept and will answer any question with the utmost patience. I feel like I have a pretty thorough understanding of basic fluid mechanics after taking his class.

This is by far my favorite professor, He is extremely prepared and organized. He is well rounded, and keeps the class interested. Attendance is not required but its so interesting that you want to go. He got method, class, and flow.

Kinda rambles in class, but he brings in guest speakers from Swearingen, so you won't have to listen to him very often. Easy assignments due each week, this class is a must-take if you're an engineer and don't want to take the regular U-101.

Dr. Gadala-Maria is one of the best teachers I have ever had. I had him for fundamentals and fluids and have worked with him outside the classroom. He can explain anything clearly and is super-organized and methodical. He has his quirks, but definitely take his classes.

Overall probably one of the better engineering professors. Explains concepts well, is very helpful. Gives hard homework, but will help you if you ask. Tests are terribly difficult, but there always seems to be at least one question that will trip you up. Very strict though as far as following rules, and will not curve at all.

Fluids is a hard class no matter who teaches it. Dr. Gadala-Maria makes it as understandable and crystal clear as can be done. He is ALWAYS willing to spend time outside of class if you make the effort to see him. He always answers emails quickly. Take his classes if you can. You will understand the material when you're done. He's one of a kind.
