This was definitely not the worst or hardest class I'd ever taken. I had to fight the urge to sleep in his class due to the monotone lectures and the grading was unfair. The student is never right, so be aware of that. The tests are all from the book and notes--so be sure to go to class!

Dr. Black is picky and loves to hear himself talk. The lectures aren't awful and his tests aren't bad if you just study the chapters, but I have never encountered a teacher who made me feel so small. Don't answer a question in class unless you have to.

I thought he was going to be awful,but he was great as long as you followed his directions, which weren't hard. Not as bad as reputation, trust me!

Dr. Black is very clear about what he wants. As long as you follow his directions and the guidelines he gives you this class is extremely easy. The best way to study for the test is to look over the chapter and the notes very closely. Good Luck!

I have never in my life dreaded going to a class, until I had Dr. Black as a professor. He is hands down the WORST professor I have ever met. He is completely unreasonable and stubborn. He is unfair in his grading, but will never admit that he is wrong, so the students are the ones who suffer. If possible, wait to take this class until he retires!!

Dr. Black is one of the worst professors I've had. He is unable to understand any question a person asks him. If asked the color of the sky, he would talk for thirty minutes, though I doubt he would say "blue" or mention the sky for that matter. To say his expectations for work are unclear/unrealistic would be like saying the sun is hot.Avoid!

The University would do well to put him in a position away from students. By far the worst teacher I have had. He has no clue to teaching in the real world. He made a grading error on his key and refused to credit the students that had the correct answer. He is the only person teaching this class at UTM. Take it elsewere! I wish I had.

Dr. Black is the worst professor that I have had on this campus in three years. The worst part about him is that he will not admit that he is ever wrong about abything. He grades unfairly and will not hear it from you if you try to reason with him. He showed up half an hour late to two classes and will not hesitate to embarass you in class.

He is a smart individual. He sometimes finds it difficult to transfer that to his students. But if you read the assigned work and do you assignments you will do fine. Dont listen so much to his off the wall comments as to what he is trying to convey. If you pay attention he will make sure you are prepared for the teaching exam.

Take this class during the summer and you'll only have to suffer for one month.The most boring class ever!He teaches about assessment, but when it comes to his own tests, he doesn't practice what he preaches.He likes to hear himself talk and he thinks he is the only one with the right answers.He likes to grab his own buttocks. Pray for retirement!

He's a very unapproachable man... you can tell he wants to be helpful (or says he does anyway), but noone in my class wants to tangle with him. I'm doing well thus far, but I know that he is a hard professor to work with.

His instruction is very focused on analyzing standardized test results, and when he gets to standard deviation, he'll enjoy confusing the heck out of you. Advice from someone who got an 'A': Save yourself the unnecessary headache and ask any statistics professor how to find it on a graphing calculator. It's SUPER easy!

If you judge the quality of a teacher by how much their students learn, I think Dr. Black is an excellent teacher. Just make sure you read the book and do his acitivies. He DOES know his subject matter very well, even though he doesn't always practice it. Study online practice tests for help on exams (he takes questions right from there!)

he should be fired. he cannot teach nor test. he doesn't know his material. hich order thinking skills my butt. he doesn't know how to use that part of his brain. if you ask him a question he never gives a clear answer. he is by far the worst teacher in the university. the only thing i learned in his class was how NOT to teach.

Dr. Black is a hard teacher, and I am not sure what he said during class. However, I do believe the man is finally changing his ways. Just go and ask him a zillion questions is you have to about asignments and you will be fine. Always let him check your work first before you turn it in.

Worst teacher I have had since I've been at Martin. Not helpful to students whatsoever. If they can ever find someone to take his place, he should be fired and never allowed to teach again. I truly believe the worst teachers at UTM are the Education professors!
