Nice man but worst teacher I've ever had. He presents material in the most confusing, difficult way. The book makes more sense but he tests you over how he teaches it, not the book way. Developed test anxiety over this class.3-5 hours homework for each class. Take home and pop quizzes are graded inconsistently. Missed a point for leaving out a $.

He does not know how to explain the material to a grad students understanding. He is very inconsistant with grading of exams. He does give curves due to the extremely intellectual content from his exams. He teaches as if he assumes you have received your CPA. Steer clear of him if at all possible.

This is a difficult class, but he does a great job presenting the material in a organized and understandable manner. Attending class and doing the homework will prepare you for the tests.

First off, you must have a ton of time to devote to this class in order to pass. He gives a projects that takes at least 12-14 hours to finish and is extremely difficult. Also, his lectures are in depth and very difficult to keep up with but do not usually help on the test at all. He does give a generous curve on each test. Be prepared!

This class was very hard. I enjoy accounting but after this class, I had to change because the class he taught made it seem like I would be a horrible accountant. I loved taking 201 and 301 but this class was just horrible. Take it with Margavio, I heard she's much easier.

Very nice and very helpful. Tries to make a difficult and heavily math oriented subject easier to follow. Uses practical, everyday examples.

Hard class, keep up with the homework cause he collects and grades it. Need to go to class or you will feel so lost! replaces the lowest test score with your final which helps, the final isnt too hard

This intersession class was not as bad as I expected. I liked his teaching style a lot. Tests are not bad..keep up with the homework and read the chapters in the book - and go over the key terms! His tests contained some "True/False", which I hated, but you'll survive. He's very friendly too!

Show up, read the book, do the homework and you'll be fine. Some of the concepts show up on the test that won't be learned until that day's chapter, but otherwise an easy class. He genuinely likes his students and tries to make conversation outside of talking about accounting.

Hard class! He goes over notes during lectures but then hardly any of it is on the test. He tries to teach you graduate level stuff and expects you to remember a lot from previous courses. However, homework isn't due till the test day but he does assign a lot of hard take home quizzes.

One of the best professors I've had at MSU. His syllabus is laid out so that the class is broken down into small manageable bits. You will need to attend every class as every class alternates between a quiz and homework, but if you do all the quizzes and homework will be more than prepared for the tests. Also he is always more than willing to help!

Oslen is a great teacher. He is very intelligent and friendly. Don't let the other posts sway you away from taking him for 302. It is a very hard class to begin with and he teaches it in a way that preps you for the CPA exam. Which to me is the most beneficial way to teach ACC classes. Also, he curves big time.

Ok, this guy teaches an undergraduate course as if we are already CPA's. Also very anal and will not try to explain very difficult material any more than he has to. All accounting classes are hard but some of the teachers at least try to make it better. This teacher doesn't. And this is coming from a student that got several 4.0s.

Tests are very difficult but he does curve them somewhat. He has quizes from time to time and some are take home. A boring class and a pretty boring teacher. His grading is pretty strict, especially on quizes.

He's a really nice guy, but not a great teacher. He doesn't really follow the book, but all material in book and lecture (and some that we have no idea where it comes from!) are all on test. Class average on tests is in the 50's, so he has to curve it a ton. Prayer helps about as much as studying; you'll feel just as lost either way taking the test

He is an easy going instructor. ACC504 is way easier than 301(2). Sometimes, he humbles lil bit & seems like he doesn't know the answers we ask in class. However, he figure it out in few minutes & explain it pretty well. It was easy A class, i got A's on every single exams. Plus, he curves with some kind of weird formula :-)
