He likes to talk down on people when someone brings up an opinion or is confuse about the reading. He put together the textbook that he used for the class. The textbook is intense reading. Hopefully he switches his style of teaching. Very rude. He likes to rant and goes off topic easily.

This professor is extremely rude and obnoxious in so many wrong levels The teacher is all over the place with his teaching and then gets mad when no one understands him What I found to be the worse part of it all he was hazing me I would answer correctly, he scream at you and say your wrong. To then revert back to my answer to being correct DON'T

You cannot imagine all the stress and misery I went through when I selected this professor. Last year, I took his course and you may call me crazy but something about him makes me want to stay away. I should have drop this course when I had the chance. Now, my GPA suffers because not only he discourages me from learning but he isn't fair to me.

BY FAR THE BEST IN THE DEPARTMENT. No homework, no papers, just 3-4 text. VERY simple professor. He does make you work for it. Just pay attention and give intelligent answers on the test and you will do fine. Seriously the best in the department. He needs to teach all the philo classes.

In the being of the semester, there were 26 students. Then towards the end of the semester only 11 students remain and nearly half of those students got a C while some got a B or A-... This class is no joke!

He starts the semester saying he doesn't give out A's. Has an English accent, no problem there. He can be a little disrespectful to students when he talks but I personally found it funny. Other than that this class will lower your GPA.

The course is very difficult, most likely because he created the course. He is very knowledgeable about his topic and expects your constant attention. He has a "No Technology in the Philosophy of Technology" course. Writing Intensive on Tests, Everyday Homework Readings, and Blunt Teaching Style. Ask constant questions and use your brain to pass.

Prof. Derringh is really into his subject. It is important to sit in on one of his classes before you sign up for the semester. Make appointment to go over draft of your paper before turning it in. Chit chat with him about chess.

I took his class and yes it's hard. He's a strange man but very knowledgeable. I can see why he gets so many negative reviews; still these students are crying babies. Do your work and don't complain. Derringh is there to teach people, if you don't want to learn and work hard it's your fault.

This professor is one of the professor that you must stay away from, if you want your GPA 3.0 or above. He is horrible and unprofessional the entire mid semester. I had to drop his class because his tests does not make any sense. He is bad on writing notes on the board, and requires you to write a whole blue book in the test and still get 50% grd.

Get ready to write from the first page of the blue book all the way to end last page (not the last white page, all the way behind blue book). Doesn't matter what you write anyways, still get a C. Avoid taking this class if you can and take another elective.

Do not take this guy's class. Any, and I do mean any, philosophy teacher will get you a better grade than what this guy will give you. He is so mean and doesn't like helping people when they're are confused. What he writes on the board is completely unclear and hard to read. He might be a decent philosopher, but he is an AWFUL philosophy teacher.

Honestly he's a great professor. He's just not an easy A by any means. He says it from the first day, he doesn't give A's. However he promotes critical thinking. Just answering the questions on the test without giving your own ideas will get you an 80 at most. He's really knowledgeable and funny. Some people take his jokes seriously though...

He is knowledgeable and claims not to use the computer but my comment is always deleted! He is very conservative in his teaching methods, miss a class he will bug you, he in short claims superiority over you in many ways that i can't explain. Drop his class! Earlier the better!
