Comment:
Frank has a lot of knowledge about art and life in general. I didn't enjoy having him as my teacher at the time, I found him pompous and arrogant. He offended me often, yet I couldn't help but really enjoy his ramblings. Years after graduating I can look back and say honestly he was a real pill, but a good teacher. Not a fair grader at all.

has very strong opinions and an even stronger personality, but he is an amazing painter and a valuable professor with a lot of life experience that you can gain from, especially if you are very ambitious about painting and the art world. talk to him one-on-one whenever you can... i found his critiques to be insightful and always honest

franks **** and egotistical perspective really got on my nerves. his ramblings about nothing but himself reveals a deeper insecurity. if you know you are a decent artist, you dont need to reassure yourself as much as he does.

Frank knows a hell of a lot about painting and his comments are always useful. That is, as long as you want to be painting major. And you want to make figurative work. If you're not either of those things, don't expect your grade to be a reflection of your effort in his class; you'll never meet his expectations. And good luck if you're ArtEd...

Irritated me extremely until last year of school. He became this immensely helpful teacher all of the sudden when I was more confident of myself. He has alot of good stuff to teach as long as he doesn't get on a tangent about science or history or anecdotes. Good painter.

Comment:
Frank is prejudiced toward students that are not painting majors. There is no real structure or substance to his class. There is nothing to be learned here. Unless you are already super-talented and super-self-motivated (and don't expect ANY instruction) D

Talks too much, has too many stories, but always interesting class. And I can take hour and a half lunches and he doesnt notice, since he's not in the room half the time.

Frank is an intersting character...an amazing painter, but extremely full of himself. You will get reat advice on your drawing/painting, but he tends to be little too interested in his student's personal lives.

A legend in his own mind and a terrible windbag. He is tough on all students who aren't painting majors and doesn't really teach.
