Comment:

This class is not that hard but it's so annoying. Mullen constantly rattles on about things that have nothing to do with the class, plus he's rude and inappropriate. I learned nothing, googled every single answer to the quizzes. Buy the online books so you can search words, about 8 10-q quizzes, two papers & final exam. no attendance policy.

Comment:

Mullen is a really good guy, and he knows a lot about Russian history and politics. He sends out overheads which are what his class lectures are based on. Three "quizzes" which are really exams, and three "exams" which are really lengthy term papers. Tough professor and class, but you'll learn a lot. Take him if you need to, but not for an easy A

Letures have nothing to do with papers or exams. Reading intensive, several lengthy papers. some people find him interesting but he leaves no room for class discusion and doesnt really care if you understand. did respond to emails. he is a good guy just a hard professor. don't take if you have a full course load!

great professor. highly recommend. don't have to go to class but it helps. I had Russian politics, great class, He helped me on a paper so I wouldn't die in the class final grade. if you want a professor who honestly cares about his students doing well and knowing the info for the class, he's it.

Awesome professor, I like how he loves Russian History, and even in non-Russian history classes he'll find a way to slip Russia into his lectures...his favorite movie is Doctor Zhivago. I had him for three classes and thought he was great. What people said about tests are correct. Usually gives a study guide for it before the test!

loves Russia and will find a way to bring it up every class. Give extra points to ensure good grade. 4 test t/f & MC. One book. Most ?'s from t/f on website. Great guy very flexible. Cares about students and easy to talk to when you are doing bad. Had C half way through. Work w/ him and got it up to a B+ Fair grader. He take pics of his students

Religious Fundamentalism - Mullen is great. He's very laid back in the classroom and does a great job of giving us the important points. He expects you to read, but you can get by on skimming each chapter. Two 5-10 page papers and a one essay final w/ notecard. You'll want to come to this class, Mullen is a lot of fun. Hes quirky and really cares.

super nice and funny. gives 120% so you can mess around a little. debates are tedious but better than lecture and it adds a little more fun to the class. 3 tests, no papers at all.

An interesting teacher. He can be too opinionated but he also welcomes discussion, which makes the class more fun. Tests are 97% composed of questions from online tests, very easy. 4 tests, lowest grade is dropped. One paper (opinion) at the end of the semester. A good 100 class to take!

Good Teacher... has a great connection with his students. You'll have a take home mid-term and final. plus one paper. Frequent quizzes on the 4-5 books you'll have to read. He'll talk about them so if you miss a few chapters (or books) you'll still do fine. just pay attention in class. He cares about his work so you dont take 400 lvl class as a jok
