His lectures were rushed and hard to follow. He went over the time limit every single time. His exams were unreasonable. He was very, very hard to get in contact with and rarely available during his office hours. We didn't have a textbook so if we had to miss class for personal reasons we were completely lost.

Clear, organised - breaks down every test performance, prints out study guides + his own notes. No textbook. Genuinely loves maths - the expression of it, the reasoning, tying in calculus with the laws of arithmetic, algebra, and trig. Focuses on proofs. Homework has no deadline. Phenomenal and inspirational. Made me love every minute of Calc I.

I took Integral Calculus & Multivariable Calculus w/ Frank Swenton back when he was still teaching at Princeton. He was not only the best math teacher I had in college, but one of the best teachers ever. He really cares about whether students understand the material, and makes difficult concepts easy and exciting.
