Comment:
I really enjoyed this class. I came in with very little knowledge of the subject but the professor's organization of the course made it easy to participate and think critically about the material right out of the gate. The lectures and readings were mostly engaging. However, I would advise students with no art history background not to start here.

Frazer is a perfect blend of humor, knowledge, and experience. He's passionate about what he does and sets out to meet students where they are. I was nervous about going to office hours but the first time I did, it went so well I kept returning! His lectures were however uninteresting since he tended to read off written text.

Frazer is great. If you're willing to dedicate and soak in what he braindumps, the benefits are endless. He is funny and engaging, and makes you want to push yourself. He inspired me become an ARH major when I was doing premed... that good!

Frazer is brilliant and funny, not to mention kinda sexy. He spills his brain everywhere in class and soaking it all up is a daunting task, but if you take it on the benefits are endless. He may be a bit intimidating at first, but once you take the leap and approach him you'll realize he doesn't bite.

Comment:
Frazer is undeniably brilliant and entertaining. He definitely favors those who are like him - that is, long winded and extremely academic. He is a bit intimidating but one-on-one he is actually more pleasant than in class. I do recommend him, he knows his stuff like no other.

a somewhat amusing professor, who is definitely interested in what he is teaching. Not one of my favourite overall, due to a tendency to be a bit scatter brained.

Frazer is one of my favorite professors at Smith. While he might come off as pretentious or intimidating, he's really quite helpful and definitely approachable. He's also funny and irreverent and if nothing else, his outfits make going to class worth it.

he's amazing. most of the work you do is independent, largely because he comes into class muttering about his diabetic cat or insomniac children...but it's all in good fun and you'll learn a lot if you want to.

I had Frazer as a guest critique for my portfolio presentation in Photo...He was ridiculously picky, and not afraid to tell you that he just "didn't care about the people in your photos," but he was also ready with a suggestion for improvement. A little intimidating, but a funny guy!

Frazer was both funny and knowledgable and a very engaging lecturer. He is an INSANELY picky and difficult paper grader, however. He definitely got me to consider both art and the body in a different way, among other things. On top of that, he's just a really cool guy... I HIGHLY recommend him as a prof., even if you aren't an art major.

frazer is awesome. any prof who wears a puffy orange jacket, used to be a boxer, and has an obsession with mies van de rohe's daybed design gets my vote.

Frazer is an amazing teacher. He's brilliant and a fab dresser ;} He puts a lot of work into grading essays and expects A LOT from his students. I learned so much in Approaching the Body. He, however, is not that approachable. Kinda intimidating.
