Comment:

Maria is the most disarmingly kind person I have ever met and her class changed my life. Shes incredibly thoughtful, well-spoken, and passionate about the material. She is lecture heavy but everything she has to say is relevant. A brilliant person and a beautiful soul.

By her own words, Professor Banerjee doesn't grade mathematically, more "on a feeling." She needs to retire, as she can't her anything anyone says, and wouldn't care enough to answer it if she could. She gave no instruction whatsoever, and managed to further complicate every single reading and student request. Do not take a class with her.

Professor Banerjee is probably one of the nicest people I've met. But her lectures are impossible to follow and so incredibly dense. She's prone to distractions and drones on endlessly, doesn't encourage any sort of class discussion, and never lets us out on time. She never gives manageable amounts of reading. Nice, but would not recommend.

One of the best professors I've ever met. She is so talented, knowledgable but also so modest and so pleasant, and she truly cares about her students. A very fair grader of the papers, willing to give extensions, and is always there to help. And literature is so beautiful, we had so much readings but they definitely worth the time and the efforts.

I love love love Professor Bannerjee. She is not only sweet but also INCREDIBLY BRILLIANT. Everything she says in class opens my eyes to something new and it's really a pleasure to be around her. I ALWAYS RECOMMEND MY FRIENDS TO TAKE HER CLASSES but the subject may be too dense and tedious for some people, and that is understandable.

I had Western Classics II with her. At first I was hesitant because of her thick accent, but I totally got over that. She is a delightfully educated woman. Every class lecture was delivered in a delicate, elegant and interesting way. Loved her!

Professor Banerjee is fantastic! I recommend taking her class even if you aren't interested in Russian Lit--you will be by the time the semester is over! She is SO helpful and supportive and really appreciates the effort her students put into their work. Plus, if you take the time to get to know her outside of class she is a very interesting person
