Took this class online. A lot of reading for a summer class. Very difficult to work 40 hours a week and take this class. Don't slack on Blackboard posts! Make sure papers are detailed and specific! Hard grader. Not exactly helpful. No tests, just papers. Nothing cumulative. Just do the readings necessary for the papers. Did get an A.

Dr. Adams was a wonderful teacher. Yes, I'm a right wing Republican! He was EXTREMELY fair, patient, and made the class RELEVANT to the times (1980s) that I was his student. He was honest/adamant about his liberal views and defended them well; Adams never badgered anyone over politics, and instilled in me a love of history I have to this day!

Professor Adams was the first professor I took at Drake. Teachers summer courses now. Wonderful professor who is a resivoir of knowledge. Learned a lot in his classes. Also an extremely kind person. I was sad to see him semi-retire.

Alum here. Had him for intro history classes, and he was very funny. Switched out of poli sci to another major and another building for most of my classes, but he recognized me when we ran into each other on campus, and still shared jokes with me. Smart man.

Adams is a great teacher. While people will knock him for bashing Bush, it's totally irrelevant to his teaching and doesn't matter (and I'm one of the most hardcore republicans at Drake). Adams is great, I will try to get him as my teacher as much as I can. Absolutely brilliant guy!!!

A Truly gifted professor. This man is one of the most intelligent individuals I've ever met and yet, is modest and "down-to-earth"! I really enjoyed his class. He says what needs to be said and is not afraid to express his opinion (he tells is like is is). I highly recommend him for all classes.

Adam's class is a bit on the difficult side for an entry-level class. Nevertheless, his "craziness" (don't believe the hype about him being overly judgemental) makes class bearable. VERY helpful and accomidating.

Fun professor. Didn't feel like he tried to force his views down my throat, but definitly didn't conceal them either. If you take notes, you will be fine. I don't think he graded on judgement. Hard to understand sometimes, but definitly enjoyable and fun!! Way better than McKnight!
