Dr. Schuster-Craig is one of the best profs I've had at GV. Not only is he nice and funny, but he's also a great teacher. He spends ample time on each unit before the exam, and is very understanding with his grading. If he sees that a lot of students did poorly on a section of the exam, he will grade it easier.

He is wonderful. Very clear and helpful. He talks about a topic for a few weeks then a test on it - so you truly understand each section. Has flexible office hours and is always willing to listen to students. He has the class vote on how to analyze certain chords. He does his best to accommodate his students learning types. Highly recommend him!

Dr. Schuster-Craig is awesome. His theory classes feel like someone has finally turned on the light in a dark or dim room! His instructions are easy to understand and he talks slowly so you can understand. I HIGHLY recommend any of his classes, especially theory-related. Also, if you have to do a recital, he's great to have on the committee.. JS :)

Dr. S-C is extremely intelligent and knows a lot about theory. The class moves quickly, though, so don't skip class and make sure you pay attention at all times: he calls on people to answer questions. My only complaint is he is not a very warm person. If you don't understand something or ask a question, he can become impatient and embarrass you.

Best theory professor ever. Makes it very easy to understand. This was the least stressful theory class I have ever had because he moves step by step and is very clear. Good guy, extremely fair in his expectations. He does not expect that theory is the only subject you have time for. Highly recommend him as a prof.

Go with this guy! He will guide you step by step through music theory in a way that you could never reach yourself. I look back on this semester and think, "how did he teach us all this stuff?" I salute Dr. Schuster-Craig for sticking with us, and not going back into vinyl siding. :)

I love Schuster-Craig! He's the coolest teacher ever. Exams are take home (don't do them with someone) and class is actually fun. Great pianist and funny to talk to. I actually enjoy theory now. Attendance is not mandatory, although it's necessary to go. He's a fair teacher and is willing to help students out.

People give him less credit than he deserves. He's a great teacher for a theory class. I've had him twice. He makes it very clear on what he wants and corrects mistakes in class that the most of us made. Good Prof!
