Lovely professor. Gives you a syllabus the very first class with due dates, resources & topics. Very kind & really encourages discussion, he doesn't just stand there and lecture. He tries to keep up to date on popular culture as to make connections in his lectures more interesting to students. I've taken 3 courses with him and loved them all.

Pretty good for a mandatory course. He is nice and will answer any questions. Only thing I don't like is that he never goes over assignments, but has very specific expectations. He has evaluation grids at the back of the syllabus - use them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I liked him though, friendly and calming presence.

If you are interested in the course content, you can handle it and probably enjoy it. If not, maybe stay away as many state he is a little dry. He does a great job of choosing relevant course material for reading except there is WAY TOO MUCH READING! for SOC! 1010 you have an article review due each week as your participation mark. Nice guy though.

Awful class. Awful professor. Lectures are often not relevant to the readings. Hard maker. Will never take a class with him again.

Unclear expectations and instructions, but overall not a bad prof as long as you put the time in. Once you get past the theory segment, you can relax a bit with the note taking and memorizing as long as you can apply the theory to the class topics. Don't buy the books except for Bereska, just go to the library.

His lectures were completely irrelevant to the course readings (which are divided between 3 books - 200+ pages of reading/week) and there was absolutely no structure to them. He rambles on for 3 hours and when a student tries to speak, he interrupts them. This class has a lot of potential, but don't take it if he's the prof.

Personally I loved Fred. I found I did much better in his course than I thought I would and I thoroughly enjoyed this. His lectures are long, yes, but he is so funny. Sometimes I zoned out but his quirky jokes always brought me back! Would recommend him and his classes to anyone :)

Overall the class was not too bad. Save your money though and don't buy the course kit, or share it with a friend in the class. The course kit was very expensive and he changes it every year which is frustrating. The readings were way too much, and to be honest, I only read the chapter I had to do a group presentation on. Take home exam was easy.

Summarizes concisely and to the point. Has dry humour, but is actually quite funny. He brings in videos and articles to make the content relevant. He can be intimidating, but that's because he can be sarcastic and blunt when he needs to be (like to people who don't do readings or seek help). I recommend taking a class with him.

One of the greatest profs at Glendon! Very intelligent prof, who is always available to meet with students, when needed. The lectures can be dense, but the tutorials provide an opportunity to clarify concepts/discuss related topics. This prof is clear about what his expectations are for both tests and exams, and is a fair marker.

Where do I begin? He's got his head in the clouds 24/7. Everything is THEORY. Hard marker. Always interrupts your presentation to steal your info. Repeats the readings in class, nothing useful. No discussion, no one ever speaks, people leave early. Only come for participation marks. Tests are rote memorization. Textbooks $200+. Avoid this class!

Horrible lecturer. He goes off on random tangents and barely helps you understand the 70 pages of reading he gives each week. He's extremely unclear when giving advice on essays. The questions on the tests are irrelevant.

This professor is a very strong lecturer, and leads the tutorials himself, without a teaching assistant. He is very open-minded about discussion, but very strict when it comes to grading and deadlines.

This teacher's exam is more a memorization test. I got a B+ in his course and worked my ass off for it. Yes he is borring, most often do not give you a brake, for smokers not too great. But the readings are interesting. Alot of people I know loved his class and him and even though he can be hard, you can learn alot from his class.

terrible, terrible, the worst! this prof's exam had nothing to do with the class readings. Most of the things covered were not even assigned. He takes the assignment right from the textbook so you can tell how talented this guy really is. Methods is not his strength, really nothing seems to be as he just babbles on all day about nothing!
