Comment:

Professor Cassidy's exams are extremely straightforward. As long as you went to class and did the readings, it's an easy pass. Very fair exam questions. Lectures can drag on a bit, but are interesting.

professor cassidy is a professor who gets extremely off topic during her lectures and just reads off her notes. no emphasis or excitement in her lectures. her tests are extremely specific and if you dont read every little detail you wont do well.

I honestly tried in this her in Soc of Advertising class and came out extremely unsatisfied. Her lectures are 3hrs of completely pointless slides and examples WHICH SHE USES ON THE EXAM. I learned absolutely nothing in this class except to never take her class again. You can tell she puts no effort in her lectures.

Comment:

Dr. Cassidy is a tough professor. There's only 2 evaluations, midterm and final, and it's mostly on the readings, which are extremely dry to read. It's easy to reach her, but sometimes doesn't respond to emails. She also states that she doesn't want to trick you, but throws in the exam specific q's from the readings to throw you off.

Not helpful at all, has difficulty responding to emails and making time for students outside of her lecture hours. She'll say the textbook is mandatory but it is not at all. She also gets upset when people skip her class, which you can also get away with without missing much. Easy pass.

I really like this prof she is kind and even gave our midterm an extra 10 percent for late exams papers. Her 2172 class is easy I didn't revise for tests and barely went to class and I came out with a 70 percent. her power points are well detailed and easy to understand and she is a very good lecturer!

One of the rudest professors I've had in my undergrad. She is extremely rude and very unapproachable, calls out students at will for anything they do and has weekly quizzes that are unrelated to the reading. The quizzes feature the most irrelevant questions from the reading that you'd miss even if you read them 1000 times. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I only missed one of the lectures this term and did my readings. I did not find Cassidy's midterm to be impossible and if I don't post a follow-up review, that means the final was just the same. I appreciate the weekly quizzes because they were easy marks and gave me a real good grade boost. You'll enjoy the class and the prof if you come to learn.

Professor Cassidy is an awesome prof. She is always so interested in the matieral, and always is engaging students. Her exams are mostly textbook readings, but she doesnt really talk about them in class so you have to do your readings. She has quizzes assigned every other week and always has guest speakers.

Had her for Soc and Ads - It's a 2 hour lecture with only about 30 minutes of content until she goes off into useless tangents and a load of examples. BUT, those aren't online so you better make a note of them somewhere because she'll put them on the exam. Also there's a TON of reading - majority of the exams and she NEVER talks about them.

One of the worst professors I've had in my entire degree, struggles behind her ego to connect with students. Exams are alright, they are based heavily on lecture, therefore you'll do as well as you pull from her classes, which isn't always clear. Problem being she is rude when you ask questions, and virtually unavailable.

I have better professors. Her readings are dry and boring, plus very difficult to absorb since it is not an actual textbook but rather an assortment of publications. Her lectures are painfully slow as you sit and take notes without a copy of her slides and speaks way too fast on test facts. Her exams are also unfair and she is very unforgiving.

Cassidy is a great prof ! She is laid back, and keeps you interested during lectures by including personal examples. Exams are fair. Going to class is critical as her power points are only point form and you will not do well if you just study the power points.I would definitely recommend this class and this prof !

Comment:

Gale is a caring and kind person. Her lectures are dated, and her exams are lazy and not always relevant to the course. I got a good mark in the class by memorizing every reading - the 60% final required me to make 300 cue cards. I would recommend this course, but only if you are comfortable with memorization. Interesting content!!
