He's a pretty funny teacher and gives lectures but does email you what the notes will be about before class. The test aren't hard if you take good notes and do the study guide he gives out, the hardest thing is the essays that go with the test but those are a max of 2 pages and are fairly easy to do.

Pay attention, take notes in class and read the text book occasionally and you will get a good grade. He provides study guides for all tests that are extremely helpful

I'm taking this class along with an upper level History class and honestly they're about the same difficulty. He lectures for a long time and there's lots of reading for his quizzes, essays, and extra-credit assignments. I need a B in this class and fingers crossed I can get one. He talks a lot, but he is funny and if you talk to him he does help.

Nice guy but the study guide was nothing like any of the tests. His lectures are long so don't take it early in the morning. Only does tests and online quizzes for grades so you have to do well. Every test has an essay to go with it, usually a topic hard to write about. Quizzes are easy. Visit him during office hours or you will have trouble.

Loved Professor Montgomery! Most I have learned in a history class so far. Tests are easy because he basically reads the test as an exam review, so write it down and study that. Offers three extra credit opportunities (you're dumb if you don't do extra credit) and also gives easy weekly quizzes with the answers in the book. Impossible to fail.

For this class there were online quizzes and you basically took one a week, two tests, three essays, but attendance and other extra credit opportunities. He gets off subject a lot and rambles. But if you follow the syllabus and study a lot you will do fine!

Couldn't stand this guy. His tests were nothing like the study guide and WAY too in depth for a 100 level class. His lectures were all over the place and if you don't like an unstructured class, DON'T take his.

Cool guy, pretty blunt and to the point. Sometimes he has a tendency to ramble but he's really funny in an odd way and is very helpful outside of class.

Very odd guy. Pretty cool though. His tests arent too bad if you take advantage of his study sheets. The only grades are the 4 tests along with the 4 take home essays (which he gives you the prompt weeks in advance).

Great guy. Mr. Montgomery is a little weird but he is a good teacher. My only complaint may be the white board being hard to read. He loves to go in depth with his subjects.

I am a history major and currently teach history. He had more of an impact on my teaching career than any other professor at Radford. Awesome guy and mentor. Really knows his stuff. Funniest professor ever period. Makes learning fun and is serious about what he does. Had him four times and I still miss his class. A MUST TAKE professor.5 stars!!!!!!

Don't take this class. He writes all his notes on the whiteboard and they are impossible to follow. Gives lots of extra credit, but it doesn't matter because his tests are ridiculous and the review sheets are so misleading and the essays are hard to write and he grades them way too hard.

The course is easy, but I would not recommend him as a teacher. He's seriously a crazy person. He has absolutely no self-control or respect for his students. He was very unprofessional in the way he deals with basic classroom problems. Easy class, bad teacher.

Extremely easy. He takes attendance randomly and theres 3 exams and 3 two paged papers due at each exam. Just make sure you go to the class before the exam because he tells you the exact questions that are on the exam.. like he literally reads off the exam word for word and gives you time to write it down. If you have half a brain easy A.

I absolutely loved him! you get extra credit just for missing 2 or less classes, but there is an attendane policy. He gives excellent study guides for exams, and they are never accumulative. By far this is my favorite professor at Radford.

Montgomery is the shiz. He's super entertaining and keeps you awake if you have an early class. you never know what is gonna come out of his mouth but its definitely worth listening to! gives a week to review for the tests, random attendance policy, his notes are a little scattered though but its easy to keep up.
