Comment:

Awesome guy, so knowledgeable and passionate about neuro. Tells lots of jokes and stories to keep it fun. That being said, neuroscience is tough and this class takes a ton of work. He offers lots of extra review sessions and curves exams -- he's not trying to weed anybody out, and he wants you to pass. Slowest grader EVER, but I recommend him.

He is really an awesome professor! he makes it almost impossible not to do well, he curves, he gives you old exams, and study guides. He is very firm in his beliefs and hilarious. If you're a neuroscience major you'll be seeing a lot of him so get ready.

Super easy class. Gives you copies of the exam from last year and reuses a bunch of questions. Curved each exam by about 10%. Lab quizzes were slightly difficult, but also curved in the end. 4 exams and a presentation in lab is the bulk of the work. Does not take attendance daily. However, sometimes gives "pop quizzes" for attendance once or twice

He is a really great person, but beware of this class. It is extremely difficult. You really need to be passionate about the brain and all of the details because Gary likes to go extremely in depth (and even prove the textbook to be wrong!). Insane amount of studying and a ton of memorization. Don't take if you want an A because that is HARD to get

Great Professor who's really passionate about Psych. He goes off on bunny trails every class because there's just so much he loves to talk about on the subject. He gives extra credit if he takes too long grading the tests (which happens every time) and also through SONA credits. LOVED HIM!!! Take his class if you get the chance :)

Dr. Bohem is amazingly intelligent. I had him years ago; his semester to teach at TCU. I am coming back to write this review because I still remember his class to this day! He is passionate about the material and really wants you to learn it. He puts everything into lecture so you must attend class. He's also easy to talk to. Recommend!

Take him! If you want to learn something, take him. He's tough and it's hard to keep up sometimes but he's amazing and so knowledgeable. He's funny and you'll never get bored in his lectures (which you cannot miss, not even once, if you want an A). He's hot and he gives generous curves and study sessions. Take him! HOT HOT HOT

Comment:

Neuropsychology is by far the most interesting and rewarding class I've never taken. He's very knowledgeable about everything neuroscience. At times it's hard to keep up. I have to record the lectures and listen to them later in order to not get lost. Although you don't understand what he's saying at first, everything makes so much sense later on.

He is a really intelligent guy and knows what he is talking about. However, I think he forgets that we do not know as much as he does. He gives you all of this information but doesn't lay down a good foundation. I study my butt off and am still struggling but let's be honest neuropsychology is challenging.

This class is tough. I study 5-10 hours for every test, but I do very well. I never study for quizzes, and I do fairly well on those as well. Make sure to be in class, his powerpoints do not contain very much info, it is ALL in the lecture! I learned so much in this class, and it was probably my favorite one this semester.

If you're a bio major, you'll have no problem. If you haven't taken biology since high school, you'll struggle a little more, but it's more than possible to get an A in this course. Go to all the lectures, take notes, ask him for help, read the book... basically work hard, and you'll be fine.

Dr. Boehm is the best teacher/professor I have ever had. He makes the topics discussed absolutely fascinating and easily understandable. His passion and expertise of the subject matter are obvious when he lectures. Not an easy class, but he cuts a lot of breaks and will help you out if you need it, no matter what. Take him!!
