Comment:

Gary Duncan is a great professor. He is always available for questions. There are many pop quizzes. He gives homework practice that is not to be turned in. Its very smart to do those. The test are not long at all. He explains concepts very well and slow, so that everyone in the class in on the same page. He does not use Blackboard.

His homework is optional, unfortunately he flies through the lectures fast you can't keep up with his lectures or his homework. He doesn't exactly "teach;" he talks himself through the examples he put on the board. He doesn't exactly help us to understand how we got from one step to another. Go to him with questions and you get "go to math lab."

Professor Duncan has been teaching for 50 years. Rushes through material, makes mistakes while showing, and then just gives a vague answer to move on. Def wouldn't recommend to someone not strong already with math as you will spend your time out of class learning the material on your own.

He was a good professor but I wouldn't recommend him to anyone who hasn't taken a math class in a long time or struggles in math. He goes very fast. I spent most of my time learning the material in the math lab.

He is such a good teacher. You have a question? He'll explain it no matter how many times you need him to. Gives homework, but always goes over it in class the next day. Sweet old man. Knows what he is doing. I highly recommend.

He was an awesome teacher. I took college level algebra and he was more than willing to help. If you participate in class and pay attention you will pass, if you keep up with the homework and are willing to ask questions you will get an A+. I really recommend him, all the lessons are taught out of a book and on white board, no internet assignments

DO. NOT. TAKE. HIS. CLASS. If you struggle with math that is. He "teaches" by just writing problems on the board, and he just describes how to do it like he's working it himself, there is no teaching, its just like he's trying to show off his math skills without helping us LEARN. He will write things on the boards and make sign mistakes, just AWFUL

Mr. Duncan was a good teacher! He does tend to fly through his lectures & it does get difficult to keep up. Homework is optional but it does benefit you because he will do 2 question quizzes worth 100 points. You have 5 tests that are pretty easy & your lowest grade gets dropped. I would recommend to anyone who is decently good at math.

Works straight out of the book and goes over the homework assignments that you don't have to turn in on the board. He flies through everything making it difficult for people who are terrible at math (me) when you ask a question it takes him 5 minutes just to figure out what you're asking. Tests were very different than homework assignments.

Very nice teacher and really wants to help you out if you're having difficulty or not doing as well as you should. Was scared to take a math class since I haven't taken one in a couple years but it was bearable with Duncan! Not hard at all if you do all your homework!

EASY! He's very kind, patient, and predictable. Homework is assigned but not graded. He assigns homework and then goes over the problems in class the next day. Tests aren't bad and he's VERY helpful! Usually get out early. I've always failed algebra and felt his class was easy! If you struggle, he'll help. Super nice guy!!

I loved Mr. Duncan! He makes doing the homework your choice, but gives quizzes (2-3 problems) over the section. He goes over any problem you don't understand and will keep on until you do. He's wonderful. Especially if someone doesn't understand math to easily, he's great at making it as simple as possible. & he gives you a test review with the same problems on the test. I'd definitely recommend him.

Comment:

Teacher is older, very nice. When he teaches on board, is very fast and seems to get frusterated when you ask to go over something again. In our 1 1/2 hour sessions 2 times a week, we never stay the whole class time. Attendance is not always taken, but I highly recommend you to attend this 0311 class if you want to pass it. Book is not optional!!

Very good. He is a great teacher and you will do well IF you do the home work. He doesn't make you turn it in but you have to do it to do well. He is always open to questions and never makes you feel dumb for asking. Also had him for Intermediate algebra course. He prepares you well for cal I. awesome guy
