Comment:

Gary is a nice guy. His material is somewhat bland and his lectures don't add much flavor to the course. Tests are written, which has pros/cons. He sends out key terms that will be on the test so that is helpful. Overall, just very bland which makes it hard to get excited to learn.

Comment:

Well, first off, he is the least clear teacher and the most vague teacher I have come across in my life. That said, I made a 96 in the class due to the outrageous ampunt of bonus points (over 10% extra available). All in all, I could read 1 chapter ahead and teach the class better than him. If you want to LEARN economics, steer clear.

Incredible teacher, knows what he is talking about. Difficult material and difficult tests. He is fair and curves very well! Also he hosts review sessions and brings tons of pizza! It will be tough but it's not bad at all...

This class was incredibly difficult, but Dr. Ferrier provided review sessions the night before each test in which he told us exactly what to study. He truly loves economics and tries to make the class as understandable as possible. He loves answering questions, and I think that he made a boring topic applicable and semi-interesting.

Avoid this guy like the plague! I took macroeconomics with a different professor and received a high A, but this class was impossible. Dr. Ferrier is smart but doesn't know how to make material simple. The HIGHEST class average on a test was a 64%. The majority of those in my class, mostly business majors, received a C or a D overall.

Don't take this class if you want a good grade. It's not the easy econ I thought it would be...I would have rather taken econ theory. It's boring material, hard tests, the worst teacher ever. It's only offered at two or three other schools, and after taking the class I know why...it's TERRIBLE. If you're in this class GET OUT.

This class is truly interesting. It wasn't easy by any stretch, but if you go to class and listen to what Dr. Ferrier says, then you will learn. He's incredibly intelligent and definitely knows his ECON. The tests were essay, but they were fair. It's a junior level class! I thoroughly enjoyed this class and would take another from him anytime.

This class was really hard. The tests are all essay and there is absolutely no opportunity for extra credit. Only 3 tests, so if you fail one, you're screwed. Avoid this teacher if you love your GPA.

He is very nice, but he has a tendency to overteach certain aspects of economics. I suppose this helps some students learn, but to others, it can make a class a bit boring. He uses great real life examples to explain things and is a fairly interesting guy. Tests and quizzes are worded ambiguous.
