Dr. Foster is a terrible marker. He specifically wants answers to be in his own words or else you will get it wrong. He isn't the type to give you part marks if you answer some of the question right. He's a great guy and cares about what he teaches, but I think he is unfair with his grading.

Gary is a great guy. His lectures can be a bit confusing, but he's always there for office hours (and he replies to emails REALLY quickly). The class was challenging, but given the subject matter that's not surprising. He's a tough marker if you don't know the material, (so you can't BS your way through) but he marks well if you know your stuff.

Gary was awesome! As long as you went to class and paid attention you were fine! The only times I found myself actually reading the huge textbook was when I had missed a couple of lectures. All philosophy classes are better if you attend (that way you don't have to read) Really sweet guy, he'd always make sure everyone understood! Loved him!

Liked the prof but he made it very hard to pay attention to the 3hr lecture. The same concepts are repeated just in different ways and its hard to see whats important and what's not. You have to really motivate yourself to do the readings and become interested in the material.

Very helpful and caring guy...knows his stuff. If you listen and enter into discussion you can learn a lot from him. He takes students very seriously and will listen to their views and consider them. He may seem scattered but behind all the chaos he knows what he's doing.
