Great guy. Tries his hardest to simplify the material and make everything as straight-forward as possible. His term tests were extremely easy, however, he does like for to show an extreme amount of detail and marks somewhat hard. Overall, though, I would highly recommend. He truly cares about his students.

He post everything online, but his hand-writing is not so easy for you to recolonize, not so much examples in his class,so you better figure out or practice by yourself. also it is not easy to get high grades cause he mark them very hard, care about all the details

Gary is hilarious! He posts all of his notes online, if you go to class you write notes the whole time. His tests were fairly easy which gives you a good mark before the exam but they don't prepare you for the exam! Make sure you look at the sample exams because yours will be the exact same!!

I really like having him for a Chem Prof . He gave detailed notes and full examples which made it easy to study . He will tell you that specific types of problems will appear on the final so you know to study them. His test are long and he marks hard but is not unfair. Haven't been interested in Chem in the past but didn't mind going to this class.

Gary is the best chemistry professor I have had at MUN. He gives very clear and detailed notes. His assignments and tests are ridiculously long however they prepare you well for the final exam. He is a very hard marker. I'd recommend him anyway!

I disagree with everyone!! I hated this class! His notes were full of over- complicated rambling sentences and were difficult to follow when re-reading them. There was a question on the final on an equation he never spoke about in class (the formula itself was briefly put on one handout with no mentions of what the symbols meant) :(

The best teacher I have had so far at MUN. His notes are amazing, his tests are fair, he prepares you for the labs the day you have them and highlights everything he wants you to know in his notes. AWESOME prof i would recommend him to anyone, only thing is he expects a lot and isn't the easiest grader.

The best Chem prof' I have had as of yet! He's very clear and although the exams are challenging, he prepares you well and gives plenty of sample exams online so you know what to expect. He's cruel in that he'll give you a 79 in the course! But overall an excellent teacher!

Very nice prof, helpful, and easy to talk to. However, I ended up falling asleep every single class. He's very monotone, and couldn't keep my attention at all. Writes a lot of notes. Would recommend, but not a morning class, too easy to fall asleep.

Gary as of right now, has been my favorite Chemistry prof in my degree. Gives great notes and examples, and tests are very straight forward. Also a very funny guy. Also amazing as a lab instructor, he's in his prime in there. Great guy to talk to, and joke around with. Overall, just...you rock Gary!

I really liked Gary. He spends all lecture time writing notes but they are quite good, and he has great, dry wit. Tests are kind of tough but straightforward. I would highly recommend him as a lab instructor, as that's when he is really in his prime.

Gary was a good prof. Doesn't give a whole lot of examples in his notes though. Can be rather dry also. His exams are fair and the final was pretty much like the ones in the past. I would reccommend him, however since he is the only one that teaches 1031, you really have no choice but to get him. :)

Gary is definitely the best chem lab instructor I've ever had! He is clear, helpful and has a great sense of humour. He has no problem giving extensions on lab reports, as long as students have a good reason and talk to him about it before the lab is due
