Lectures are super boring and do not relate to the test at all. The test are hard to understand and require you to read the book multiple times. Online homework is easy to get 100% but doesn't really help on the 4 tests.

Online Version: He was quick to answer questions, provided many useful supplemental material, and had a very clear syllabus. The textbook itself didn't really go into much depth, and it was read like a novel. Interesting, but not as deep as it should be. Exams and quizzes were fair and were not bad if you did all the reading and homework.

Nice guy but extremely hard grader when it comes to exams. If you don't read each chapter two are three times don't expect to pass. He said he was going to curve a test that almost everyone failed but then changed his mind. Lectures are almost irrelevant to the exams. Don't take this class unless you have to.

Professor McDonnell prefers a mix of analog and digital style teaching. He lectures every day for the entire class, but is willing to indulge relevant tangential questions. Read the material, show up for class, and take good notes. My only complaint is I did not care for the Cengage Aplia program that is mandatory for the homework assignments.

Absolutely hated this class. I went everyday and felt like the lectures were unnecessary because I ended up teaching myself. The book is long and online. The homework does not relate to the book. He is very monotone and when you ask for help and go to the tutoring he blames it on your effort. DO NOT TAKE THIS IF YOU DO NOT HAVE TO!!!

He does make up his own examples. He does not prepare you for the test at all. In class he gives you graphs and examples to try and then the tests are strictly multiple choice. Would not take him again.

Mr. McDonnell does nothing to help his students except provide them with tutoring info because their passing is not his concern, only the tutors. He knows his tests are hard but does nothing to extra to help prepare whatsoever. If you don't absolutely need this class DON'T take it. Also you must purchase online book code, huge rip off.

Fairly easy class, although you do have to do quite a bit of homework with it. But it is very easy stuff, he is great at explaining everything quite well. If you don't understand principles of economics after having him there is no hope for you because he does dumb down everything so that even the guy in the back of the room understands it all.

This is a hard class but if you are looking for a class where you will not have to participate or do group work, it's perfect for you. The professor is always well prepared for class and does not waste time. This class consisted of exams, quiz's, and homework. Very generous curve range for a B.

Very hard class if your not an Economics major. I asked for help multiple times and the study groups were not helpful because this professor did not give her anything to go by. Doesn't seem to like to give up his office hours to helping much, would rather you get help from a tutor. Very old school teaching, talks to himself most of the time.

I actually LOVED this class. If you like economics, he is the professor for you. He has a monotone voice, and his lectures can get very boring. But, he is VERY clear on the content. If you read the book, follow the lectures and take good notes, you should be fine. I am definitely taking him for Econ 202.

There isn't a curve on the test, which are very hard. He gives extra credit if you attend class. He lectures the entire time on material right from the book.

the hefty curve is further incentive to avoid his mind numbing lectures. endless graphs. continually defined what a "cost," is and what an "incentive," is. Enjoys John Stossel. If you don't get an A in this class you should probably not be in college.

Nice guy, but BORING class. I sat there each class and stared at the clock. Exams were hard, and I didn't like the textbook at all. However, I thought I would have a B in the class, but I ended up with an A, so he must curve somehow.
