Comment:

I had Prof. Poole even before he had finished his Ph.D., and already then, he was one of the best profs I could have then imagined. Turns out, 17 years later as I finish my own Ph.D, (in a different field) I was right. An amazingly gifted teacher who you would never forget if you ever had the great fortune to have learned from him. Inspirational.

I took his course in 1994 and it warms my heart that students still love him the way we did 11 years ago. He is the BEST professor on this planet. Warm, engaging, interesting, dynamic. I'm about to enter my Phd and I talk about him as my teaching role model all the time to my classmates.
