Comment:
Gary is charismatic. However the class is boring, slow, not hands on. Time could be spent doing much more productive things! Gary is obviously experienced but he spends too much time talking rather than teaching. He sold a book he wrote about karate to students in his class and said it was for the class. It was more of a personal profit for him....

The last time I took this class was 2002. I have forgotten a lot of classes and the information in a lot of classes from my college career. I have to this day never forgotten this class or the leasons I learned in it. This is a class that everyone should take and Kyoshi Purdue is a person everyone should meet at least once.

Kyoshi Purdue is an excellent teacher. He's an 8th degree black belt and is very experienced, he even wrote a book! I like listening to his stories of how he would win or lose karate competitions. He's very friendly and always makes jokes. I love his class.

Kyoshi Purdue is an amazing karate instructor. He currently has an 8th degree black belt. His life experience provides his students with a great foundation for learning the art. I have known him for two years, and he is a great man.

Great guy and excellent teacher, with an intimate practical knowledge of the subject at hand. If you are at all interested in learning how to defend yourself effectively, I highly recommend his class. You do need to be somewhat self-motivated, of course.

Have known Gary since 1976 When he was my Karate Instructor at UNM, He was a heavy influence on my academic and athletic career at UNM. Have kept in touch with him on my trips back to Albuquerque. Went to his wedding. Outstanding person, great friend. super teacher. You would have a hard time finding a better human being than Mr. Purdue....

Great teacher, Friendly, helpful. Gary is one of those guys, who will remain your friend for years to come. I am a former student from years ago, and he is still my friend. He was one of the most influential persons in my Karate history with tournaments and my own personal ascent up the ladder with karate belts also. He is a high class individual

This class requires lots of teamwork. Shy person? Don't bother. You'll be in a large gym, with wooden floors, so you'll get bruised a lot. Gary doesn't talk loud, so you'll never hear him in that gym. Too much reliance on upper belts.
