Comment:

Prof Hamm was a good teacher. If you take the time to go to class and try and focus you will do fine. It is very helpful to do the HW outside of class even though it isn't mandatory. The tests aren't too bad, and he is a fair grader. He is kind of spacey and it takes him a long time to return tests but he is a good proffesor.

Cool guy and good prof, just sometimes, he forgets how to do a problem. The problems he has troubles on he usually won't put on tests. His test averages are in the 50's to 60's but he curves a lot.

He's a really cute old man who explains things pretty well and will help if you ask. This class was pretty hard for me but I liked him. He is getting a little old and forgetful though and it took him forever to grade our tests.

I was very unhappy with Dr. Hamm. I will avoid any class he teaches in the future. I am so unhappy I have considered going to the Math Department to state my case. I passed his class but I did it 100% from learning out of the book on my own. He is usually lost and unprepared. He shows up late at times and probably couldnt pass his own tests.

I would not recommend this teacher for upper-level classes. The overall test averages in my class were always below 50; that's because when he reviews, he shows you what you need to study and then puts totally different questions on the test (not from the review or even the assigned homework problems).

Hamm is a really nice guy. I dropped before the 1st exam, so I can't really say how difficult his tests are. If calc is a breeze to you, then it may be easy for you. This is a new class for me, so I needed much more clarity--his teaching style didn't work for me and wasn't learning anything.

As sweet as ever. He's very relaxed about homework due dates, which can be a frustration or a relief, depending on what you're looking for. The Calc 3 final was waaaaaaaay too easy, though.

Nice guy! He truly wants you to pass and is always willing to help. But he gets mixed up when trying to help with hw probs and gets off-track in lectures, so students end up being poorly prepared for exams. I recommend him because he's so nice, but, if you want to understand calculus, you MUST read the book instead of just relying on his lectures.

Bit of a dork, but awesome guy. Teaches out of the book, but is very passionate about math / math history. BRUTAL EXAMS. This guy doesn't F around writing his tests - BE PREPARED. Put forth honest effort on HW&exam reviews, and will be fine. I didnt, and got SMOKED on test1, but recovered(B).
