It was completely pointless to even come to class other than the review before the test. He read straight off of his powerpoints. The lab is hard because you write a paper every 2 weeks and he is a TOUGH grader. He's a funny guy, it's just a boring and pointless class.

The class had two components near endless amounts power-points slides and GIS labs. The power-points were only needed when studying for the midterm and final. You basically need to memorize all the key terms on them. Labs were not to hard they just took a great deal of time. Dr. Whiting was always willing to help on the labs when requested.

Prof. Whiting couldn't keep my attention if I was on ritalin. He tends to drone about the material during the lectures. If you are only taking the class for a requirement, Prof. Whiting will bore you out of your mind.

So yeah...The class was the most un organized class I have ever taken in my life!!!!!!THANKS FOR COMING OUT.....Dr. Whiting a wonderful Professor...Very helpful.Always willing to answer questions....not to bad in lecture...Test not to hard, study his notes and you'll be fine....the book a little bit!!!!!!!GOOD LUCK

Good-humored even though first impresstions may not lead you to think he is... Helpful, but approach him first, he won't guide you around by the hand (ie. treats you like an adult). Overall, would take another class with him.

Not a terribly hard teacher, but not easy either, you better know something about biology when you get in there cause he rambles as if you should already know stuff. Will help if asked but is a little unclear when explaining the labs. Pretty nice guy though
