He's got it all - in all his years of teaching he perfected his pedagogy. I loved every minute in his class (despite the early hours). I wish one day to teach in a similar way. I would take all his classes if I could.

This guy is AMAZING. He is hilarious, constantly making jokes, but you still actually learn a lot of material. I never once got tired, distracted, or bored in this class. HIGHLY recommend. The tests are slightly hard but if you study the notes and prepare your essays (get questions ahead of time) you'll do just fine.

I had him for HDFS 560 &670.01. He was an awesome teacher and made class interesting! He takes the time to learn names of students. Exams are mult choice & essay and if you complete the study guide you will do great on exams. His papers are long but he grades them really easy. If you go to class and take notes, and participate you will be fine!

I thought he was an awesome teacher! I had no problem with the test and he had "pop quizzes' that he told you about, and he graded the paper very easily. Not to mention I thought he was inspiring and soo funny!

He is all over the place. Jumps around a lot so it's hard to follow. His midterm was 70 MC and then 7 essay questions on top of that, then made the class stay after for an hour of lecture. He has personality, I'll give him that. But he should not be teaching.

I loved his class. I ended up not reading but used my book for the paper and studying for the tests. The tests are difficult but if you study his study guide completely, they will be easy. I completed the study guide and gave myself a week to study for his tests and they were never a problem for me

I loved this class and Dr. Folden was so much fun. He's kinda crazy but very funny. The subject seems easy but the tests are extremely hard. Multiple choice section is worded strange. I always went to class, took good notes and paid attention, and studied a decent amount for the exams and only got C's. But with the paper I earned a B overall.

While he is intimidating and crazy at times, I actually learned a lot from him and somewhat enjoyed the class. On the first day I thought it would be terrible but it turned out OK. Just go to class and take good notes.

How does he still have a job? His teaching is all surface level stuff, he's insulting, and has a personality that inhibits learning. He knows nothing of research. Has he ever done any? Do not go to him for advice. He's a basket case. I believe that he lies too.

Yes, Dr. Folden keeps things interesting, but I feel that he is very intimidating. He shows favoritism in the class and makes it known. He is terrible at returning email. He knows his stuff, but he jumps back and forth too much. He does make sure that everyone understands something before moving on. Good luck with him he's tough!

Hes great! he sings and dances during while he waits for someone to answer...very enthusiatic...and when he remembers something or has a great idea...he goes...OH!! really loud! funny :) very interactive with the students...mandatory attendance but he makes great use of your time :) really makes you see things from other perspectives! GREAT!!

Dr. Folden is awesome. He's also my honors advisor, but I have always found him to be helpful. His jokes crack me up, and we all love when he sings. Or when he forgets a certain point and he squeals "OH!". Lol. I love this guy :)

YOu have to go to class to do well on the tests. He keeps your attention and is rather funny, but his tests are extremely hard. He does curve...sometimes. :) If I had the option of another teacher, I would have chosen the other. Folden is entertaining though!

He's very nice and funny, keeps you awake in class. I just always felt rushed in note taking, and there are A LOT of notes. Don't worry about the book too much, he covers it all in class. Just go and participate and study your notes (if you can write fast enough). The tests aren't too difficult.
