I had him for my first design class after making it into the ADES program. He is funny and a little crazy. He expects the best of the best from his students which makes sense because only the top 10% make it into the program. He gives great feedback on work, but if you want to get a good grade you have to go up and talk to him about your designs.

I study hard when it comes to tests. I studied a LOT for his 8 quizzes and I would end up with an 80-85. They are all open ended and you have to know everything that he puts on the study sheet- even though its double the amount of information he tests. On the writing assignments, he grades like he is an English Professor. Avoid Class if possible

If you can avoid, do not take. His class is designed for the student to get a C at best. I am a hard worker and this is the first time I am worried about failing a class. 8 open ended quizzes that are impossible. 3 assignments. I studied the hardest I ever studied on a quiz, though I did great, and failed. 1st college assignment I have ever failed.

This professor single-handedly ruined the entire program for me. I learned more about his own accomplishments than the course material. The way he has set up the C.D. program is a joke. I did not follow through with the portfolio review because of how unappealing the program was to me after taking this course. Does not need to be that competitive.

I've never had to try so hard to pass a class before. Don't get me wrong, he's a funny guy. But he is very unfair and strict when he grades the assignments.

Challenging and empowering. He's on every minute of every class, through good jokes and bad. I learned more in this class than from all my other history and art history classes combined. This man doesn't just know how to teach--he knows how to get you to teach yourself, and how to get you fired up to do it.

Michael is pretty off the wall. Though his antics are actually memory tricks for basic design stuff. He's an excellent teacher, though sometimes he's a bit too nice and doesn't give you the ruthless instructor that you need.
