Good guy, rambles often but at least it's interesting usually. you dont have to read anything he assigns but class is awkward if no one else does either. i wouldn't recommend his class if you have zero interest in the environment/nature. his essay feedback is helpful but you'll have to do more than what he put in order to get that A normally

I took his Nature in Writing class. The class does get boring sometimes, but the books he chooses are generally good and he is clear about what he wants. The final grade is composed of 4 essays basically but he gives good feedback on the drafts. Generally a pretty good class.

Has a tendency to ramble but very well intentioned. I thought he was mostly interesting but not everybody did. The final grade is entirely based on four six-page essays but you have to write six two-page papers as well. He gives a lot of feedback so I thought the class was pretty easy if not the most riveting.

I took his nature and writing class. I'm interested in that topic, which is why i chose to take this class over all the other English 2 courses offered. I enjoyed his assignments very much, even though i had to put a lot of time and thought into it--isn't that the nature of writing? Prof. Gardner is a very understanding, kind, and open teacher.

I took Nature and Writing. In class, he just rambles about random things. Although you have to go, you really don't need to be paying attention. You have to write about five 2 page essays about strange topics and then four 6 pagers about the environment. You don't get your grade until the end of the semester though.

His feedback is extensive and very helpful. You will always be able to find a topic that interests you. There is alot of writing, about 40 pages over the semester, but you will come out a much better writer. Be warned, he does not give out many grades but he is a very fair grader and is very flexible with final draft deadlines.

We spend most of class discussing his random thoughts. Also Geoff is very vague about the essays and what he actually wants. If you want to be able to track your grade, avoid him.

His questions are thought-provoking and he is a great guy, however you'd better adapt to his ideas of what 'correct' english is. Also, be pepared fr a surprise when you get your grade.

Good class, and he was always clear about what he expected. doesnt give letter grades until the last day, somewhat annoying, but if you want a good laid back, thought provoking class, take his.

He is an interesting teacher. He looks at your work carefully and provides you with feedback, but you won't master the principles of english. His topics and course outline is intriguing but it's a little difficult to improve your writing.

Gardner is a very unbiased english teacher, hard to find these days. Take anything and everything he teaches. He doesnt help you write any better, but who needs to that goes to Tufts. Fortunately his topics are well thought out and interesting.
