I took tax and international business law with Cummins. He is by far the worst prof I've experienced. No supplementary material (powerpoints, website, etc) to his courses so you MUST go to class. Difficult to ask questions and typically is condescending when answering. His notes are messy, illegible, and hard to follow.

Loved his class, then again I'm interested in tax. He knows tax laws fr memory which is impressive given they change nearly every year. His enthusiasm & passion for tax is obvious. Never paid more attention in any other class @MUN. tests=very hard & marks real strange.. make sure u go see him after Mid1 to go thru exam (guarentee better grade M2)

Extremely hard marker, impossible to get full marks on any question, ineffective at answering students questions, no notes online so attending class in a must, his notes are not prepared before class so it depends on what he remembers to talk about that day-(we were tested on a subject not covered in class or in textbook)

Tests are extremely hard and not enough time. Also, you must know absolutely everything he said in class and the book. Looks like the class average on the test was around 50% odd. Not helpful at all when asked for help. Stay away at all costs.

If you feel as if this professor has marked you unfairly is there a process to have your exam " re read" or marked by someone else other than George Cummins. It is a right entitled to every student. He does have a reputation for being an unfair marker and not being able to answer your questions, or tell you why you got the mark you did. He is rude.

Knows tax laws by memory; teaches it like a robot; back to the class, writing very fast on the board. Confuses people. Uses vague marking system...you have no idea what you did right. Treats certain students in a very disrespectful manner, for no apparent reason. I'm trying to be as kind and impartial as possible. Go elsewhere for this course.

Professor Is all over the place. Very disorganized, rambles on about law and doesnt write down any notes clearly, unclear, gets frustrated very easily. Expects you to know everything about law. VERY hard marker. Would never recommend him to anyone.

For the course itself, its hard but working at it you should do ok-ish. George knows his stuff, but is a horrible proff. He has no grading scheme, just what mark he FEELS you should get for what you right. He is more interested in running out to get his smoke than answering a question, and doesnt care how students do. 2nd worse proff I have had.

AWESOME Professor. I cannot see why anyone says he is not. Don't grieve if you don't get an A in this course. However, Cummins is a very clear teacher, and knows his stuff inside and out and does a good job to teach it to students. He does the best he can with somewhat of a dry subject.
