Comment:

Pittarelli was a great professor, if you were willing to deal with feeling like an idiot. Often goes on tangents that are mostly unrelated to the subject, if you really pay attention to him you will learn a lot. Very open to helping after hours, although he will treat you like a fool. A great teacher really, for people who learn from mistakes.

Pittarelli was a really difficult teacher for MAT115. There is no attendance and no graded homework. Your grade is consisted of 4 tests. They are extremely difficult. The material is difficult, but he does not explain much at all. The good thing is, there are huge curves. I failed every test but managed to pass with a C

He is a terrible professor. Whatever you do, steer clear of him. He will insult you throughout the class and he goes off on tangents about things that have nothing to do with the topic. The tests are extremely tough, although open book. Also, you have to buy the book, but will disagree with it for the most part, claiming its wrong.

The guy is a genius, but just doesn't care about teaching or his students anymore. Tests are 5 questions, no partial credit. Class numbers will go from 90 the first week to 40 after the first test. As I said, really smart guy, just doesn't know how to get his knowledge to the students

Very bad teacher. Makes even the simplest topics very confusing. Doesn't help at all if you go ask him and yells at you if you get anything wrong. Keeps telling us to change majors if we don'y understand a topic. Only good thing is the test are open book and your grade is based on what you get based onthe class average.

Absolutely horrid teacher, is a professor to make you stroke his ego, talks down, is getting worse with age, I've had 3 classes with him that ONLY he teaches, its been the same every time. He's smart - I'll give him that, but he has no place as a professor because he can't teach.

Worst professor I have ever had. He is unable to teach the material at a level that his students can understand. Has a bad habit of going way too in depth and just confusing his students even mroe. If at all possible avoid taking any of his classes. I will most likely end up retaking the class, but it will not be with him.

Got a b in his class only because of the final. He is hard to follow, and the material being somewhat difficult doesn't help. Curves test pretty high. Also he talks down to students.

He had more PHDs than I have shoes. He is very complicated. The trick is to actually listen in class and ask questions. Then when you understand it be careful he will confuse you right after that.

This Professor is a joke! He talks down to the students and tried to put them in their places! Doesnt even use the textbook and discredits the author, but tells them to read it, what?! When you go to his office hours, he tries to bull you out his office! Plus I think he wishes he was an actor or something! Always gives you these weird faces!

He is a good teacher if you can understand where he is coming from. He is hard to understand at first, but once you take the first test if you pay attention and write down all of the notes and print out the notes online, you will do fine. Just pay attention and all the examples from the notes will end up on the quiz at some point!

He's smart enough, but his classes are an exercise in frustration. His test averages are notorious, and rarely does your score on a test even remotely reflect whether you actually understand and can apply the material. He curves pretty heavily, but his grading combined with his tendency towards offtopic rants make his classes extremely tiresome.

Very entertaining guy you he will curve your grade like mad so don't worry about not doing well. However, I learned almost nothing in his classes because it seems that this man is way too smart to teach. Knows what he is talking about but has a hard time breaking it down for students.

Entertaining in small doses but his shtick gets tedious quick. Gets off-topic rather easily, occasionally venting frustration with low averages in the class. These rants are particularly abrasive, and he tries to mitigate that by saying it's "nothing personal". Somehow given the things he says, "nothing personal" rings hollow.
