He teaches more than students are required to know, which means his teaching is useless when you face final and mid term. I have seen lot of fellows who get really low marks even though they study a lot. Recommend to go other professors.

Good prof. Tries to make the class interesting, but that doesn't always work. Was approachable when I asked him questions, but not necessarily helpful. Over all, I prefered Gauvin as a chemistry prof.

Is quite knowledgeable, knows what he's talking about. Though he does try to make things interesting by bringing in demonstrations, he is VERY monotonous (boring). Even when I "force" myself to listen and focus, I end up falling asleep by halfway point of class. Not sure how approachable he is. . . seems "friendly" in class.

he is nice to the class in general, but he cannot deal with students to their faces he gets frustrated and makes u feel stupid, i dont think he means to thats just how he comes off, he is funny though and his online notes are good, plus he is clear on the course material but like i said not to friendly

Like everyone else has said, just read the parts of the book listed in the course outline. The class is probably a waste of your time. It's really not all that hard. Definitely study old exams too. They made up about 65% of my midterm.

Right of the bat I can tell Hickling is not impressed with most of the intro to chemistry students. Why is this so, im not quite sure. If hes so disgruntaled, perhaps he should seek a new occupation. Through email he is very courtius, in person, I would love to avoid him at all costs.
