I really enjoyed this course. I could see how his teaching style wouldn't be for everyone but I found the course really interesting and enjoyed the teaching style once I got used to it. Found the grading to be fair. The tests can be hard but if you use Launchpad that is a big help. You can get yourself a better grade with the presentation & paper.

Genuinely nice guy, but his lectures are all over the place, so there's a huge lack of organization (especially with tests) He was also a little bit offensive in Abnormal psych with his over the top descriptions of mental illness, and the fact that he doesn't seem to believe in behavioral medication.

Great Professor . . .He really made me think. I could not expect a better experience in the Theories of Personality class.

Nice guy, but not a helpful or clear Professor. Kind of flighty, and would often go from speaking quietly to getting in a students face because they said something he didn't agree with. I wouldn't exactly call this class "Theories of Personality", more like "Theories of Jennings." Had high hopes but was disappointed. Fair grader, however.

I really enjoyed taking his class. Although, I found his tests very hard I believe he made it fair by giving us a project to do at the end. I feel like I learned alot from this professor and I am taking his abnormal psych class as well. He is also very helpful, he always answered my emails as quickly as he could.

Great Professor! He's really smart. I, like most students, really like him. I think Professor Jennings is a shock to students who are used to getting good grades without working hard. I am so glad I had him as a teacher before I begin my graduate program.

One of the hardest professor to follow. Absolutely no need to go to class because the test are on the text only. You will learn a lot in his classes because you are forced to read the text but you will nothing from the professor in class. If you meet with him outside class he is a better teacher but an absolute horrible professor in class.

Nice man . . . I did well in his class, and readily grasped where he was coming from, but he may be too intelligent to teach your typical undergraduate.

A nice guy, but I had a hard time with his teaching style. Tests seemed to pop up every 2 1/2 weeks and it was really hard to keep up with the reading. (Also, the readings were never covered in class) There is an oral project, but he offers an alternative if you aren't into public speaking, and there is a lot of extra credit (20+ points).

After the third week of class I wondered when was Prof. Jennings going to give a lecture. I then began to realize he was using a student-centered teaching and discussion approach. It's different but you eventually start to see just how effective it is over time. He does lecture from time to time. He's an excellent professor and advisor!

I have taken FY Seminar, Psyc 107 and Psyc 108 w/him. He has been my adviser for four years, and he has played a key role in my getting into a top rated Ph.D. program. I loved his lectures and the discussions in the advanced classes, and his student centered, discussion-oriented teaching approach offered in the seminar.

Hard class because all exams are based just on the textbook which he barely covers. So it's up to you to read and teach yourself everything. In class its basically a large overview of issues but the details which are on the exam are found after you personally read the textbook. One oral presentation but lots of extra credit assignments.

The class is really just an overview. Everything on the test can come from the readings.

It would be nice if he had a reading schedule, instead of leaving it open-ended... Interesting class, but multiple choice tests are hard sometimes... It's also obvious what he does and doesn't like in psychology.

he tends to get lazy and has student teach the class about things he dislikes...which can be fine but it IS his job. I had him as my advisor and if you ever do watch out. He didnt seem to know anything about what I needed or what counted for what. Otherwise In ok guy anf prof

Prof. Jennings was outstanding. Great projects, interesting class time. A little weird that part of his required reading is his own book.
