I took Prof. Miller for Engl 202 which is a required course for art history and art conservation majors. This class was nothing more than a bible study section. Every day you show up to class and listen to him ramble on about story after story from the old and new testament. How its an English course? I don't know. there was no text analysis at all

Took this class for a breadth requirement. It is very difficult if you don't put in a crap load of time into studying. You need to make effective use of online summaries to fully understand the texts. You also need to go to every single class and basically try and write down almost every word he says, everything said in class is fair game for tests

Great professor! I learned a ton from this class. Lots of readings, but the tests aren't bad. Lectures are quite interesting, and sometimes even funny. Definitely recommend this class- knowledge of classical/biblical literature is useful for all other english classes.

Professor Miller is really knowledgeable about the material. So even though the class is mostly lecture, I didn't mind because I learned so much from this class. The tests are manageable if you do the readings and pay attention in class. I definitely would recommend this class, especially for non-majors.

its a basic english class. if you pay attention and take notes in class you won't have to read that much. if you dont you have to make sure to read everything. exams are pretty fair its mostly stuff you go over in class. one final creative project and two short reflective essays. not bad.

Professor Miller is so funny and makes discussions relevant & interesting! The readings are very short and simple. His goal isn't to make you write extensively, it's to get you to think creatively about a piece and reflect on it. 10 mini quizzes, 3 one page papers & create your own short story. He's awesome. Definitely recommend!

We don't have any tests besides the exams, and the reading material for them is gone over in class so if you don't read it you can still pass. He's very charismatic and if the opportunity arises he can be funny. If you don't attend class, likely suffer from the lack of explanations connected with the readings.

Exams are made up by him, which makes them much easier than you think! Individual short answer q's, short essays, creative project, and open ended papers. Laid back guy, makes class interesting. Use spark notes if you aren't familiar with old or new testament lit (helpful!). Overall, go to class, do the reading, and you'll be good!

Miller is an excellent professor! Definitely take him if you can! I took his Tennessee Williams class and loved it. It's easy to do the reading (which is required) because all of the material is either short stories or plays that aren't too long. Attendance isn't mandatory but he is extremely knowledgable, material is interesting if you love theatre

George Miller is a fantastic teacher. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the topics and willing to work with you. His Tennessee Williams class was overall interesting and even though attendance is not mandatory I highly suggest going to class and watching the films. If you try you'll pass easily.

There is a lot of reading, and you NEED to pass the reading quizzes to pass the course. But attendance isn't mandatory, we watched lots of movies, and George is super laid back. 10-ish quizzes, one 3 page paper, one 10 page research paper, and one "creative project." I would recommend this 102 course to anyone.

I absolutely loved George. He's a very sweet, knowledgeable professor who's approachable and willing to help you if you need it. We watched a lot of movies in class and he wasn't strict on attendance, but don't think it's easy. You have to read all the plays to pass all the quizzes he gives out. If you want a laid-back, interesting 102, take him!

If you have the opportunity to take this class with a different professor, DO! We watch a lot of movies and he never takes attendance but if you are interested in learning about Shakespeare you won't learn much in this class. If you are looking for a time to just sit back and relax and not have to do any work... this is the class for you.

go to class and pay attention. he can be kind of boring but you watch a lot of movies. you can read the sparknotes for most of the works covered. gives out study guides before exams that are sort of helpful just take good notes and you'll do fine

Don't take this class. It's interesting at first but the tests do not match the study guides. You literally have to read every piece of literature he assigns several times to know everything you need to for the tests. I got a good grade in his class but I worked very, very hard. Due dates flexible but grading is ridiculously arbitrary
