He is a really sweet, old man. He is so cute and really wants you to do well. You have a short 1 page paper due every week, a term paper and a midterm, but everything is fairly easy. Class, is twice a week and you watch a movie for a class period every week. His grading is weird, but it works to your benefit and he really doesn't give below a B

Jay Halio is one of the nicest guys guys in the world. Nice professors aren't always the easiest to understand. The class itself has no formally written standard guidelines of whats expected in order to succeed. The entire semester goes by and one will not receive any grades until the last day of class. This is very aggravating and stressful.

Pretty easy class. 9 1-page papers and 1 4-page paper. The papers are based off of movies and readings for homework assignments and are quite easy. Lectures on Mondays and you watch movies on Wednesdays. Not to mention Professor Halio is the nicest guy ever.He cares about students and will help, but often times he can be very unclear.

Professor Halio is one of the most intelligent professors I have had. He loves the material and treats the class like he is having a discussion with a group of his friends. I have nothing bad to say about the class. If you get a chance to take a class with him, take the opportunity. Also, grading in the class is fair and generous.

Halio is awesome. Had him for Jewish lit. Great guy. Show up to class, try and do the readings and do ALL of the essays assigned. Talk to him for help.

He "doesnt believe in grades" until the last day when he gives everyone B range. if youre happy with a B, great. if not, that sucks. He is a nice old man, but is insanely boring. taking him as a tues/thurs class was unbearable. everyday i would think, "there is no way he can keep us the full time. what is there to talk about?!" he did!

He made me love Shakespeare. I loved the setup of his classroom. Was more interested in your take on the texts than lecturing you on his ideas. Went to London with him, and loved every minute. Best experience at UD and best professor I ever had there. He really cared what you thought. Sweet guy.

An "experimental" class, but a lot of overlap with ENGL 348 so it wasn't too tough. Really unique in only offering comments and ideas of grades, but not acutally numbers or letters until the end of the semester. Weekly reaction papers and a midterm and final are the work, plus weekly texts. It can be a lot, but come to class and you will be OK.
