Comment:

Gerald is a great professor. Yeah, he rambles sometimes and his notes can be confusing but he is very knowledgeable and goes through homework in class . If you go to his office hours he's more than willing to help you and is better one-on-one. Exams are fair and he gives you points where he can. Definitely recommend him compared to the other profs.

Comment:

Better to ask questions in class, do not ask by email because his explanation is short and unclear in email. He is not prepared well before the classes begin, because he often get dizzy on the examples that he prepared, which make me and my friends feel confused. Also, the textbook is NOT worth to buy since it does not helpful much.

In an entire semester he did not manage to complete even one coherent thought. His examples are horrendous and not helpful. He skips over material saying "it's not important" or "it's easy" which makes completing the assignments extremely difficult. I did not learn a single thing from him, plus the textbook is not great for the course.

The material in Math 127 is not particularly difficult, but Gerald's not so great lecturing skills coupled with unclear notes makes it a hard class. I feel like a cryptographer trying to decipher his notes. Gerald needs to either follow a textbook or make clear notes. Also, he is quite helpful one on one and a really smart guy.

Gerald Cliff was a nice professor. At first I thought he made up the lectures as he went along because he loves to make up examples, but then I found his extensive pre-written online notes. He is not the best lecturer, but in his office he is great one on one. I think that he is extremely passionate about math. He is best if you had math before.

He jumps around a lot when teaching, and is quite monotone and his lectures are far from interesting. His notes online are pretty good though, so make sure to start reading them from the beginning, because they will save you! He's definitely not the best teacher, but if you're in honors math, you'll probably need to take a class or two with him.

He's a nice man and always willing to help if you go to him during office hours. But his notes are really hard to follow and jumps all over the place in them which makes it even harder to follow him. All in all if you take this class good luck making sense of it

I only stayed in his class for two weeks before I switched to Omar Rivasplata who I had for Math 100. My impression was that Omar is MUCH better than Gerald. Gerald seemed to be winging his lectures, was unorganized, and hard to follow.

I only went to his class for two weeks before I switched to Omar Rivasplata, who I had for Math 100, and is MUCH better. My impression of Gerald before I switched was that he seems to be a "scatter-brain", is not very organized, and appeared to be winging his lectures. But then again I didn't see what he was like for a whole semester.

Very good prof, and he is cute. A little mess in class, but notes is clear and helpful. I never read book, notes is enough. Assignments are easy and he will tell you how to do them in class,exam is fair. And he is cute:)
