I found Gerry to be quite arrogant and very into himself. Thankfully he is retiring and won't be teaching after this semester. At first I thought he was very clear with what he wanted for essays but he always came back with something else and I found him very VERY critical. I went from being a high 80s student in Eng 100 to mid 60slow70s in 110.:(

Gerry was a great professor. He has a "no-gadget" policy in his class, so you can't take out your cell phone while he is teaching, but he was really funny and made the class fun. I really improved my essay writing skills in his class, for which I am grateful. Great prof, and overall good guy.

I found Gerald Hill to be very arrogant and self absorbed. If you don't write poetry like he does then, according to him, you don't have what it takes to be a writer. I wrote a poem for his class and he tore it to shreds and told me it was the worst he'd ever read. That poem was published in SPRING magazine. Suck it, Gerald.

I took 110 and 251 from him. He is great. Served wine in our last class of 110 and the class was fun and engaging. Creative writing (251) was by far the best class of took at University. In fact, the friends I met in the class and I hang out with him still รข€"two years after the course.

Gerry was great! I went into the class absolutely hating English and he has changed my opinion of it because of the way he runs his class. We got to do 2 informal essays with options for topics and tests are fairly easy providing you know your grammar. He LOVES his dashes and commas, so if you can place them correctly in a sentence, you'll do fine!

Awesome Prof. and an awesome class. Although he is not the easiest marker, he is very clear about what he wants and is very helpful with assignments. If you want to become a stronger writer then this is the class to take. Classes were interesting and we even played games at times. I loved going to class and I skip most of my other classes.

Great guy! Has a lot of expectations but is upfront about them. Know your grammar. Bring all the textbooks to class as he will call you out in front of everyone if you don't. Really pushes you to become a stronger writer. Exams were easy if you went to class. Would definitely take another class from him! He's very funny.

Such a nice guy. And he marks fairly easy, but watch out for grammar. A lot of the course is based on it. I loved this class, mostly because of him. I'd definitely take another class from Gerry!

I felt that he was very helpful. However, he leaves poems very open to interpretation, but is a stickler for proving your point. He sometimes doesn't agree with your opinion on poems. All in all, I enjoyed his class and will take another one with him.

This class was hard for me..I loved how he ran the classes but he is a hard marker on your essays..He will like you better if you participate more in class discussion... Make sure you have no comma errors or any problems in your writing..He also is not as helpful with tips on how to improve your essay as i was hoping..

Fairly easy class if you pay attention & do what is told. 2 out of 3 essays were informal, & he marks very fairly. Grammar is important in this class & he can't stress it enough. Spent a few classes outside writing in our journals, so it was sweet. I would definitely recommend his class. I dreaded taking an eng class, but this one changed my mind

I took 251 and 252 from Gerry. At first I didn't think he was a good prof, because he kept telling me to "push my work". But after a few weeks, I realized that he is a fantastic prof, who is always ready to help in any way he can. He helped my writing, and he was a fair marker with good feedback! He rocks!

Gerry is a reasonable man: if you show up, participate in class discussion and write interesting essays you will do well. If you slack, make up essays and don't pay attention, you will not do well. For a Saskatchewan Literature class, I found this class to be extremely interesting. I am considering being an English minor after taking Gerry's class.

Gerry is a good teacher. If you are not retarded, then you will do fine. One can blame a bad mark on the fact that he didn't like you; or, it could be the fact that you suck at essays....big G is a cash teacher, enough said.

Gerry is an excellent prof. His marks are fair, and you will get what you deserve in his class: If you go to class and do the work, you'll do well; if not, then don't expect good marks. Also make sure you understand the topic of his essay's before you go and write them. He is very helpful and will always proof read your essay ahead of time.
