I cannot begin to tell you how worthless this class is, by far the hardest elective I've taken at UC. Not an easy A! He stands there and talks to you for an hour and a half, no visuals or continuity, nothing.His tests are impossible!Cohen is a good guy but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who doesn't have a vast previous knowledge of Greek Hist.

Awesome teacher! I would recommend attending class as he only gives verbal notes. Exams are essay styles, but pretty easy if you attend class regularly. Also, the study session the class before the exam is very, very helpful. Easy A!

Getzel is spectacular. He knows what he's talking about and is top notch in his field. Go to class, enjoy the class, embrace the class, and your grade will be an easy A. take notes, and pay attention on the review day.

He is very overrated. Only mildly interesting. Horribly unfair if you have a valid problem and miss an exam; even if you are a good student. Can be very rude and insulting. If he's the "best" you've had at UC, I feel sorry for you! Doesn't deserve the high rating he has, trust me!

I can't understand all the great reviews about him. I'm not saying he's bad, but having read the reviews, I think that he is overrated. Exams are OK but you have to memorize a lot. Classes are not that interesting - an occasional joke here an there. Otherwise dry material. My advice is that you don't take him based on reviews you see here.

He is one of the best teachers I have had at U.C. He is a great lecturer, tells great stories to go along with the subject and tells the best corny jokes. He cares not only about student's education in his class, but also *genuinely* cares sudent's education in overall academics.

Dr Cohen is GREAT! He is interesting and his tests cover the material well. He assigns reading but does not really make you do it except to study for tests. You only have about three tests as your only grades for the class, which is my only objection. His 'don't take notes on this' stories are always great.

Really knowledgable professor, he knows all there is to know about his field. The book isn't really necessary, its more supplemental to the lectures. The tests are really easy, if you just show up to class, you'll do fine. Really funny guy with lots of cool stories to put the lectures in perspective. Overall, awesome.

I was at UC for 5 years and Cohen was my favorite teacher I ever had. He was the best. You could tell he really had a passion for what he was teaching. He had great antecdotes and keeps the class interesting. I'd highly recommend any of his classes!

He has rockin' stories. He is SO interesting, been everywhere and done everything. His class is EASY but SO good. He speaks at a pace where you can write and is SO willing to help. He rocks!
