Really love taking Dr. Goffsteins class. Very few professors have their hearts in full favor of their students education. He has taught me and inspired me so much. I understand that for certain learners hes not going to be the best professor. Even if you dont like him as a professor, youll love him as a person.

Goffstein is an amazing professor and an even better person. I had him for an independent study and he quickly became one of my favorites. Some consider him boring, but I'd imagine those that claim that are usually the same people that have philosophy gave over their heads anyways, hence why they consider it boring. He's not boring if you get PHIL.

Lectures were pretty boring but for notes all you have to do is write down what he writes on the board, those correlate with quizzes. You can get by without the textbook. Most of the class came to his class late and he always handed them the attendance sheet. 3 unexcused absences and you're down a letter grade. About 4-5 quizzes and 2-3 papers.

His class is very easy but very boring. He has a dry sense of humor and rambles about the same topic for days. Be sure not to miss too much class. He also requires you to have a $100 book that he wrote, but you can get by without it as long as you go to class.

I dropped this class almost immediately, I have never had a more boring teacher in my entire life. I fell asleep during the first day, despite how hard I tried to stay alert. His voice was monotone and with a topic already not very interesting, he did a terrible job at keeping attention.

With philosophy 111, there are 4 "quizzes", and the 5th one is the final exam. They're all one page or less. However, you need to skim over the book during class to understand what he's talking about. After I figured that much out, I enjoyed his class & signed up for another with him. He rambles on a lot, but if he didn't you'd be more confused.

I loved his Philosophy 111 class. Not only was it interesting, bit I actually enjoyed his philosophical ramblings. Some people will say he's boring or that he talks too much, but he just wants to ensure that the concepts are understood. Highly recommend him (especially if you have an interest in philosophy!).

This class is super easy! He wrote the textbook so his lecture is almost word for word what the book says. You don't really have to read it if you listen to him but it can get kind of boring so if you zone out you have the book to look back at. There are only 5 "quizzes" (one counts as final) and a couple reflectionreaction papers.

Easy A if you read the questions at the end of textbook chapters for the quizzes. Attendance is strict and if you miss more than 3 classes you're dropped a letter grade. Hard to pay attention in class but you don't really need to. He wrote the book so if you read the book for the quizzes it will be easy.

Literally the worst teacher I have EVER had. I have never had the displeasure of meeting someone so boring in my entire life. He rambles on and on and on and on... about the same "stuff" every single class. He's completely scatter brained, never remembers what he taught, and sounds like an absolute moron. You learn nothing, but class is mandatory.

I recommend this class. His lectures are very boring, but it's an easy A. You only have 5 quizzes, no homework, and 3-5 papers ALL semester. And the papers are reflection papers... so you just have to talk about the topic and you'll be fine. He goes over what will be on the quiz, so as long as you pay attention, this will be an easy GPA booster

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS if you can help it. all of my friends took this class with different professors and LOVE it and i just freaking hate it. it's so boring and i don't understand anything and his attendance policy is so strict. i don't think i'm doing too hot and i'm a good student.

This class is just basically a GPA boost if you can stand to sit through his lectures. If you take good notes you don't need to read the book. Having said that good luck on taking good notes, you sometimes feel like you're listening to the rambling of some guy who skimmed some Greek literature. Which isn't to far from the actuality of the situation
