Provided handout/online schedule with what she would expect from her student each day. As long as you prepare what you are asked for she will give solid A (its not alot either). Some people can find her attitude assertive or demanding respect, but that is more like her trying to recreate what japanese class would be like, not being strict or mean

Comment:

While this style of language learning does take a week or two to get used to, it is engaging and very useful when you become more comfortable with it. Marcus has an intimidating presence at times, but she does take into account effort, not just results, sotell her if you are struggling and ask for advice. The homework load is not bad at all either.

I'm going to have to agree with the previous reviewMarcus-sensei can come across as strict and scary, but really, she's a great person! Her grades are fair; you don't have to ask and answer questions promptly and perfectly to get a five for the daily ACT classes, as long as you show that you know what you're doing.

I'll admit initially that she comes off as an intimidating person, but she's an intelligent, at times humorous, teacher. You don't have to do perfectly to get a five in ACT class, just as long as you can correct your mistakes.

I will never take her class again. I guess she thinks she is the most important person in the world so that she deserves GREAT respects from all her students. Never question her. She has a condescending attitude towards everybody in the class and plays favouritism.

Comment:

She is one of the best teachers I've ever had. She is very demanding, but if you let her, she can be a great advocate and truly cares about her students. I don't know where everyone got her rudeness or favorites-playing from, but I wasn't her favorite and still loved the class. I did well the first year, but did worse in subsequent semesters.

Her gradings are extremely unfair. It is hard to earn good grades in her class. EXCELLENT performance without mistakes usually gives you only a 4.5/5 which is a 90 in the class.
