Comment:

Professor Elder was the absolute best. He changed my life and outlook on everything. If you had a class with him then you know his teaching ability was unparalleled. I wouldn't be who I am today without my first geography class with him, and the five I took with him after that. I truly appreciated his dedication to his profession, and knowledge.

Great guy. Recommend ignore last 3 (really, last 2) comments - suspiciously similar opinions and dates. It's impossible not to be opinionated about Africa - Glen was passionately compassionate, very well informed, and really obviously very intelligent - specifically and generally. What more can you ask for in a teacher?

I love Glen Elder he is one of my favorite profs. He is a leading scholar in his area of study and he is one of the nicest people I have met. I think that anyone who has a problem with him didn't put effort into his class, the work is a lot but it's attainable. If you have a question don't be shy he's very kind. Ask him about growing up in S.Africa

Very nice guy as long as he is in a good mood. Watch out on his bad days! Expects a lot of his students, but this course is very interesting, so it is easy to do the readings and keep up. You do have to buy a lot of books, but they're pretty interesting! Great personality and accent though!

like to talk about the same topic for the entire semester. his lecture are NOT AT ALL helpful in terms of exams. rather pretentious. don;t be surprised if you and everyone else in the class has no idea what to study for. your only hope is in the TA. and its a dim hope...
