Mac is a phenomenal guitar teacher. For someone who isn't a music major and didn't know how to read music at all before this class, Mac was extremely helpful and patient with me. I would definitely suggest this class to anyone who wants to learn how to play the guitar.

I agree with everything that's been written here so far, minus one thing. The final. He found this website and decided that the final will in fact be graded so don't write stuff like that on here anymore! Word of mouth works just fine and its less likely that the teachers will find out.

Fun course and great guy! I really liked how he'd teach us chords to popular songs and we'd play along with the recordings sometimes. Also learned the intro to 'Dust in the Wind.' :oD Easy so far as quizzes go, but you do have to practice the pieces he assigns. Just a warning, the final exam is a fake! He doesn't actually grade it!

Fun class but it's too big to be beneficial to everyone. Some people never played guitar before, and others have experience so it's hard to teach to everyone. He's a good teacher but too lenient on ppl who skip and waste time w/quiz makeups!
