Comment:

One of my favorite people!!! He's so intelligent and cares a lot about students. The lectures can be a tad boring at times, but Professor H knows the material SO well and can answer any Q. Papers/tests aren't impossible but can be a bit difficult. The class overall is really enlightening and Glenn is the man and not textbooks. TAKE THIS CLASS!

Comment:

Hastedt is obviously very smart, he can talk about the subject-at-hand all day if he could. With that being said, missing class means missing what's going to be on the test. The test is roughly 65/35 lecture/readings, with readings being all T/F. It's difficult to know what he's putting on the exam because of all the content, so take good notes!

Dr. Hastedt is very intelligent and obviously knows a lot about the topic. However, his tests are a true/false and multiple choice combination and very tricky (there are 3) and there's a 20+ page policy brief so watch out. You need to go to class and READ and you might not have any idea what your grade will be until the very end.

Very nice and helpful professor, gives extensions on almost all assignments and is willing to spend time to help the students pass, his exams are extremely difficult though, but if you try hard and ask him for help you should be fine.

The most unclear testing methods I've ever seen. He talks and talks in class and you think you've got the material down, then you take the test and you're wondering if you're even in the right classroom cuz you've never seen any of the info. He's a nice guy but I wouldn't take him again.

i switched my major after taking his class. the tests were all T/F and the majority of my class failed the first one. He isnt very clear and rambles sometimes. no matter how much effort you put in the tests were impossible, i'd avoid for sure.

Knows his stuff (he wrote all the textbooks and yes they are 'real' books). If you are interested in foreign policy you will love this class and get a lot out of it, otherwise you might be bored. Tests are pretty hard but study the right stuff and you can do alright.

Class was bland and the lectures uninspiring, his liberal attitudes show here and there, the tests were difficult, and the end of the year paper as much pointless as ridiculous. I am a fan consistency and this man doesn't possess it, I would avoid his class and take Keller.

US Foreign Policy- The material was definitely interesting, but his tests were very difficult. They're not very generalized and are half true/false. Also he assigns a briefing book paper. Mine ended up being 26 and 1/2 pages long! Take my advice and start working on it at the beginning of the semester. Also, know the readings in and out.

Extremely interesting class...but there are only two tests and a final so you have to do well on everything. he likes to ask lot of tricky T/F questions on the exams.Offered an extra credit paper on a very long book, and if you just did it you were pretty much guaranteed an extra 3-5 percentage points on your end grade
