Comment:
I found this course to be kind of tough. There were some aspects that I had enjoyed, but there were a lot more that I didn't. Gordon is VERY picky on tests and on reports. However, he was fair in that if you did better on your second report/final he will disregard the previous mark which was what saved my grade. Not an easy A in my opinion.

Dr. Goldsborough was one of the most memorable professors I have had. His lectures are not only clear and concise, but has many interesting facts and anecdotes thrown in to make learning about algae intriguing. While I found myself inadequately prepared for the lab test, the other tests I knew exactly what to expect.

Great professor! His passion shines through the lectures and he clearly is a knowledgable guy. The field work was interesting and the lab component was useful to learn about methods used in the field. References not required in labs was unusual, but allowed to apply own knowledge and understanding to a subject, not someone else's. Easy exams.

Wetland ecology field course was lots of fun. HIGHLY recommended. Tweeked my interest in Manitoba wetlands and I learned a lot. This course is dependent on group assignments so you have to be able to work in a group! Goldbourough went off on tangents sometimes too much, but they were always interesting

My favorite prof in the university. The field work for this class was generally fun, but it really depends on who is in your project group. His lectures are clear, but he tends to go off into tangents. I don't mind this though because they are often interesting and if he doesn't cover it in lecture, he won't test you on it anyway.

Teacher did try to focus on interesting topics, however he would often go on long-winded rants about the environment. He rushed through material at the end of the course as he took several lectures to talk about things like water conservation, antienvironmentalism, or recycycling. Course was half his opinion and half science.

Very clear explanations and interesting topics. It was one of the first 8:30 classes I didn't have trouble staying awake in. Attend class as he does test on information he talks about that may not always be in the notes. Overall very interesting class and a great prof. Exams were very fair.

Incomplete notes are not a sufficient motivator to get me to come to this class. The teaching duo of Gordon and Annemieke is incredible in that they're both incredibly long winded and hard to listen to. They spent 75 minutes explaining the -one page- syllabus; material that would take anyone else 10 minutes. The lectures followed the same trend.

I find it really hard to have sympathy for those who complain about his notes being incomplete. If you attend class, you will get the remainder of the notes and will do great on the exams. If you're one of those people who never attend class, dont bother taking this course. you will fail. I thinks he's a great prof. The material is interesting.

This is a class for his contradictions: He whines about golf, big cars, exploiting the Earth, but he does it too in the name of "science". Whatever. His notes are incomplete, there is no text, and hes boring. He treats you like a 4th grader... useless course.
