One of the most enjoyable classes I had in UBC, he uses lots of examples for explanation and is always clear on his grading expectation. Make sure to attend the lecture and do the assignments, lots similar questions are on the exam.

Comment:

Very interesting instructor, he made 7 pm to 10 pm class bearable. Lecture notes are very thorough and his weekly assignments are helpful to gauge the difficulty level of midterm. His exams are difficult in terms of wording. Exams will test your reading comprehension skills more than subject material it self. lots of interesting stories to tell!

An unmotivated tour through statistics... the course amounts to a bunch of flashcards with only hand-waving to support it. No real biology, no real math and the marking was severe as small arbitrary mistakes are disproportionately weighted.

Was extremely clear and helpful, lecture notes are well organized and lecture pace is very adequate to follow, understand and write at the same time. Final was hard, but it was a hard course in general, so can't really blame him. Just a great prof!

His notes are well organized, and helpful, but the exams can be tough. I thought he was hilarious. Not a lecture passed where I didn't laugh aloud. Humour makes the lectures more interesting.
