Comment:

Very hard and long calculations materials the course itself, Prof. Swaters basically wrote everything on the whiteboard. He wrote very fast and talked a lot , so the lectures were pretty pretty heavey. But the homeworks and midterm were fair and final was pretty easy, as he gave you many previous finals to work with. Highly recommended.

AMAZING! Loves the material and wants the students to love it too! Hands down one of the best math profs out there. (I've had many in my 4 years as a math student). 4 assignments, 1 midterm, and final. Tells you which proofs to know, since that's 24 exam problems. I finished the course wanting to know more about PDEs. Great prof! TAKE HIS CLASS!

Comment:

Swaters is a brilliant professor. I loved Math in high school but somehow I started hating it in my first year. I failed Math 101 and had to retake it. Luckily, Dr. Swaters was my prof and he really reignited my love for Math. I went on to do very well in my remaining Math courses of my degree. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM.

Prof.Gordon is approachable and fun. In 438, I spent a lot of time copying the class lecture notes and not provided the online version. Exams and assignments are fair game. This course should be regarded as advanced calculus, and people did well in calculus will do in this course.

I recommend this guy! Yes his midterms are hard and truth is I bombed the midterm(I got nuked) but still managed to get C in his class because his final wasn`t hard. He truly cares about his students and so he fails you on the midterm but makes it easy on the final. It is required to do practice in the textbook.SO practice if you want A+.

Dr. Swaters really cares about his class. He has a pretty good sense of humour and a great enthusiasm for this subject. I actually wish he taught all my classes. He's very helpful in his office hours. True, his midterm was horrible, but very fair. I'd recommend him if you have the chance (or the misfortune) of taking this course.

Completely without use. Notes are poorly writen and incomplete. Midterm was randomly focused on only a few concepts, and replies to emails with "it's obvious". Avoid at all costs
