Awful. Had to go to another teacher for clarification. Answers questions by either laughing at you, or referring you to the slides, which only make sense to him. Don't take him for linguistics.

Graham is an outstanding professor and I think he is hilarious, but you have to get his sense of humor. He is very clear about his expectations, and will explain material until you understand. Exceptional clarity. Practice tests that are online help tremendously with the actual tests. Highly recommend.

He knows what he's talking about. His lectures about grammar are the clearest I've heard. Your grade is made up of 3-4 online test. If you have a flair for analyzing sentences and multiple choice tests (like the SAT writing component), this class will be easy. If you have poor test taking skills, you might have trouble getting a high grade.

I think he's adorable. He cracks jokes (never about "fat women," I'm not sure why he did that in his other classes). He is really easy, all his tests are online and he posts sample tests to help. I would highly recommend him!

i liked the class and he explained things well, but not with the end of the semester paper. he was back and forth about it, and especially with my grade. he said i did well in the rough draft but when i got it back he said it was all wrong and i got a 75. after hours of work.

This guy is terrible! He was very sarcastic and rude, especially about women! He thinks that it is funny to make fun of and put people down in the classroom. I dropped this class because of his tasteless sence of humor. Do yourself a favor and take this class from someone else!

I took Graham for two linguistics classes and loved it! All his stff is online, but you have to go to class every day to do the exmaples with him. No pricey books and you get to take tests on WebCT! Would definitely recommend him!

An accomplished linguist, skilled instructor and just generally well-informed and humourous guy. He's a bit sardonic and the puns fly a bit thick now and again, but you'll grow to appreciate it, even when it's leveled at you. His understanding of language and the manner in which it evolves, and all other manner of minutea, is encyclopedic.

Graham is the greatest. He is THE expert veteran linguist to turn to. Go to class and bring your sense of humor. He sometimes gets his feelings hurt when students miss class and he will take it out on you, so go to class and learn. My favorite professor ever.

Very funny! There are no books for this class so everything is done on the board. Going to class is important. Grade based on tests and one paper. Fun class but can be hard if you don't go to class.
