He's not too bad of a teacher and I can honestly say he does try to help if you're struggling. But the two main issues are quizzes and his grading. He gives way too many quizzes. Even on weeks where we have a test, he throws in a quiz. His grading is tough as well and he is not clear as to why you got something wrong.

I got an A in this class, but no thanks to this teacher. I invested way to much of my life into the textbook. I don't feel rewarded for my work, I feel like I got swindled by UNCA for making me do all the work myself why this guy just pumps out punishment and little help. It's like a Dark Souls boss, but with zero fun and even less reward.

One of the worst professors I've had. Tests are impossible and so are the quizzes even though they are open note. Moves way too fast and doesn't care about the success of his students.

Will teach you his way of doing things that have nothing to do with everyone else taking Calculus. His course convinced me that I could not do math. Test are way too hard and on stuff not covered in class.

Professor does not understand when students are struggling. He believes students who get bad grades are just "giving up".

Generally expects too much of calc 1 students. Goes VERY fast through lectures and doesn't stop to make sure everyone is on the same page. So if you miss a day, you better have a way to catch up. He gives a quiz almost every week but the problems are nearly impossible even with notes. Hardest tests I've ever had, lots of curve-balls.

Greg is a great professor who really enjoys the subject he teaches. He often has a nice little history tid bit to keep things interesting. He is also hilarious, don't take him seriously or you may get your feelings hurt. If you ever need help he is more than happy to explain troublesome concepts. I hope to take him again.

Math has never been my favorite subject so I can't say I enjoyed this class, but the professor really knows his stuff and if you take the time to listen and do all the online homework you should be fine. He is understanding if you need help so don't be afraid to ask for it.

If you're on the fence about this professor and are reading reviews to decide how to proceed: If your math background going into Calc 2 is fundamentally solid you'll be fine. If you're taking Calc 2 after a break, or if your intermediate math isn't completely solid, find another professor. Negative feedback from other reviews is accurate.

Rushes through concepts and often does not elaborate, even after being asked by students. Very knowledgeable, but not very good at passing on knowledge or explaining his process

I am in school to be a Math Minor and I have never had a problem in any math course until I took Boudreaux's class. He is the most difficult grader that I have ever had and he is not helpful when it comes to office hours. All homework is online and it does not reflect any problems that we completed in class. Good luck in his Calc III class.

Boudreaux is great! He is incredibly enthusiastic about mathematics and gets really excited in class when explaining things that sometimes he leaves out a whole section of the problem. He is a tough grader but is willing to help out. He also gives you lots of opportunities to get better grades (like test corrections!) I would recommend Greg.

Greg is clearly passionate about the subject and makes an effort to get students involved. Used Pearson MyMathLab, which I like for the instant feedbackhelp initially figuring out how to solve new problem types. Quirky sense of humor; likes proofs, and bring your algebra skills (it's a prereq; it was kinda sink or swim with that stuff)

Boudreaux is amazing and inspiring. I can see how he can come off as condescending, but he means very well. He has a sense of humor and has fun, but not enough to where it takes away class time. Manages his time very well and is willing to stay after hours to help. If you're serious about math, take his classes.

History of Math. Interesting at beginning and easy. Then the 2 projects hit us late in semester. He tends to hit hard with the big stuff (tests, projects). It wasn't terrible, but two big group papers & a physical project. Still an enjoyable elective. Also requires a couple of outside of class things at end of semester (aka MY SATURDAY TAKEN).

Very enthusiastic teacher, so I thought I would enjoy his class and learn a lot. However, he gives the most simple examples in class and in the homework, but then puts challenging questions on the tests and quizzes. Half of our class dropped out by the end of the course. He's a nice guy, but I suggest picking another teacher.

Sloppy writing but if you listen you can figure it out, not impossible. Very condescending to students fairly often, enough to be unprofessional seems like he wants to use it to be motivational but doesn't come off that way. Clear about test, quizzes, and homework though. Tough but fair, always available outside class for help.

Prof. Boudreaux is a great professor. He was incredibly helpful and accommodating. His quizzes come straight from the homework, and his tests are similar to boom problems. As long as you do your work, he will see to it that you receive a good grade and are ready for Calc 2.

Another semester where i learn more by youtube lectures than the actual classroom. good ol' UNCA. this guy's handwriting is horrible & his tests ask questions out of left field. avoid if you can.
